Fantastic experience: Fantastic service, value for money and easy to access. Dr Katie Rassie is very knowledgeable, very thorough, pleasant and realistic about health outcomes. She kept a close eye on me during the first stage of my treatment plan and made me feel safe. My health numbers have improved and I feel so good mentally. The reception team are great to deal with and the nurse care is fantastic. A fantastic service thank you!

Positive experience: As it was my first time was abit worried about how it would go as I haven’t been successful with other treatments for menopause but after talking to Cely reassurance about what I can take & for how long should give me some relief if any if I use the non hrt hormone treatment a go but is abit pricey with payment 0n consultation as I was told the first appointment was free or somewhat free & should be covered by some private health insurance as I pay what the amount I had to pay today in a month was see how I go but yeah!

Fantastic experience: I have been attending the Jen Hailes Clinic at Clayton to see my fantastic endocrinologist, Dr Sonia Davison for 16 years. I was disappointed to hear today that for my next visit in 6 months time I will need to travel into the CBD for my appointment. I have always found JHC staff welcoming and helpful. Dr Sonia Davison is the most amazing medical professional.

Fantastic experience: The Jean Hailes clinic has been a fantastic clinic foe me. The doctors are so knowledgeable and they give you the to explain the problems that you have. Advice given is discussed with you and the treatment then can be done. For all women it is a safe place to see a female doctor.

Negative experience: I really wanted to love this place, and believed I would receive comprehensive patient centered care. Unfortunately, whilst some nurses are lovely to deal with, I have not had a good experience with the quality of medical care provided. The female doctor I saw was kind during the consultations, however in her decision making and clinical reasoning she was very paternalistic, and engaged in medical gaslighting. I didn't expect to have my symptoms downplayed and dismissed at this clinic. The care I received was a rehash of previous treatments that had never worked in the past. Decisions about my medical condition and resulting diagnosis and care were made by other members of staff who have never met (let alone had a consultation) with me. This is not patient affirming practice. The cost of consulting a GP at this clinic is extortionate, especially when you consider the outcome of care is no different to consulting a regular GP which would be a fraction of the cost compared to Jean Hailes; even for a long appointment. Securing an appointment in a reasonable time frame is nigh on impossible at this clinic, so treatment and relevant decision making is protracted and inadequate which can be distressing. I have decided to discontinue my health care at Jean Hailes, and find a more transparent and approachable physician who will include and keep me informed of the decision making and clinical reasoning process. I am lucky to have a wonderful GP who is supporting me through this process. I am so disappointed in this clinic, and just can't see myself recommending it to any of the people I care about.

Negative experience: My thirty seven year old daughter attended the Jean Hailes clinic’s endocrinologist Dr Yvonne Chow in June 2020 with a specific request for estrogen blockers in relation to complex health issues that seemed to be related to her hormonal cycle. She was experiencing severe pain before and after periods. Dr Chow’s response was literally “I’m not going to do that”. She referred her to the clinic’s dietitian regarding the severe pain which also seemed related to the consumption of certain foods such as fruits/sugar. The dietitian, whom she attended in July 2020, appeared to have no knowledge of dietary considerations around her condition, and also told her that she “could” eat fruit - which she avoids due to its seeming exacerbation of her pain levels. In October 2020 she attended a doctor and nurse (we assumed, as they did not introduce themselves) at the clinic. She had sent her pain diary, with graphs depicting her menstrual cycle, several days before but they had not read it and did not seem to know about it. On opening the document they were unable to print out the graphs in colour due to not having a colour printer. I attended the appointment to assist with communication as my daughter has a stutter, but they treated her as if she was mentally incompetent and did not even arrange for tests that might have thrown some light on her condition. She has just been diagnosed with stage 2 or 3 breast cancer which we have been told is ‘estrogen driven’, and may have been avoided if she had been prescribed estrogen blockers in the preceding years. She is requiring a mastectomy, which might have been avoided if she had been taken seriously by the Jean Hailes clinicians in 2020, that’s quite apart from the demeaning treatment. So much for their ‘specialist women’s healthcare services’.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been referred to Dr Pav Nanayakkara & also to Amy Steventon and could not be any happier, thankful and blessed with all the advice they’ve given me, the utmost care they’ve invested in me and supported me with every visit. More than 5 stars is definitely deserved!

Negative experience: What a waste of time. First appointment asked to arrive 15minutes early, there was no need for this. Waited over 50minutes, no acknowledgment by 3 reception staff that the Doctor was running late. When I did approach reception it took a few minutes for someone to even acknowledge I was there, to be told I’ll be with you soon. I understand appointments can run over, but to not advise the patient as they sit there waiting and waiting, is poor service. The appointments are not cheap, I had expected so much more. I lost faith in Jean Hailes and cancelled the appointment.

Negative experience: I won't bore you with the details of why I have given one star. There is just too much to complain about. I only went back to Jean Hailes in Clayton because my first visit was delightful. Dr Amanda Ward was brilliant and I highly recommend her (I understand why she is booked out till Feb 2024) . However, this time....... The service, the doctor, the staff...... One star is definitely deserved.

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of speaking to a lady called Tahlia. I would just like to say how professional and kind she was over the phone. It was an absolute delight and so refreshing to come across someone with such superb phone etiquette. She is a true assist to your business.

Negative experience: Their receptionist is the worst I’ve ever seen. When I call them and want to book the first appointment, They always say “send the referral letter and we will contact you”. First time they said we’ll contact u after 1 week, second time they said we’ll contact u after 2 weeks, but they will NEVER NEVER contact you. After 2 weeks I called them, and they just started to read my referral letter during phone call and said they need to see the ultrasound results, but they didn’t mention it when I called them two weeks ago. And they said after we see the ultrasound results we’ll call you. But still they NEVER call you!!! It’s so hard to book the first appointment, they never consider how urgent patient’s situation is. Worst receptionist and appointment process! Don’t go with them!

Fantastic experience: Dr Amanda Ward is the most beautiful, kind gynaecologist I have ever met. I'm forever grateful to her.

Positive experience: This is a specific women's clinic for women's health and related issues - it is not a general practise. Stand alone building opposite train line/station. On street and plenty of off street parking behind the building - practise/surgery entry is at the rear. Appointments are difficult to come by and best made well in advance (repeat appointments may not be available for up to 12 weeks). I encountered friendly and helpful staff and although the appointment was expensive I was allocated plenty of time and wasn't hurried out (this practise doesn't bulk bill, and the gap is considerable).

Negative experience: I am beyond disappointed and appalled with the treatment I received from Dr Cely. I mentioned to her that I could feel a lump on my stomach and asked if it was anything I should be concerned of however she didn’t even feel or look at it, just told me it was nothing to worry about. Turned out it was three large fibroids and I had to have an open myomectomy which is major surgery. I specifically went to a womens clinic for extra care whilst I started to my fertility plans and this treatment was disgusting and irresponsible and I knew my experience had to be shared. A side note… if a doctor ever dismisses a concern of yours go elsewhere, I learnt the hard way

Fantastic experience: After countless appointments with GP's where I left feeling dismissed and confused, I finally booked in at Jean Hailes with Dr Amanda Newman. She really listened and cared about my concerns. Everybody there has been kind and compassionate whether it's over the phone or in person. Having my first appointment was a huge turning point for my physical and mental health and I owe it all to Dr Newman and the staff at Jean Hailes. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment today with Dr Jessica Klein to replace my mirena. I was extremely scared going in due to previous medical history although all of the staff, from the front desk to the nurses were so kind and empathetic that they made me feel very welcome and safe. Dr Jessica Klein was also very welcoming and comforting, taking the time to talk to me about my history, current medical problems and the procedure as well as follow up and dealing with my problems after the procedure. This was the best experience I’ve ever had with a gynaecologist and I would definitely recommend this clinic to any of my friends and family. Will definitely return as I felt listened to, respected and that all of the staff made it a safe and welcome environment for me as a young women.

Fantastic experience: I have been to the clinic now twice to see Janetta Webb and was very happy with the support and service I received. Janetta was very understanding, supportive and took the time to listen to my needs and concerns. I felt at ease with her and have now have a positive outlook.. I'm very grateful for her support and knowledge towards me as a patient. The best part about it she goes with what the patient wants. Nothing is forced and is all in our own time. Thank you very much for your wonderful support, as I'm now on the correct treatment path. The reception staff at the clinic are very lovely and supportive. I know there is a number of negative reviews , but from my experience it has all been positive and the costs associated have all been worth it. Janetta is totally worth waiting for ( COVID has made the scheduling slower). Anyway I would 100% recommend this place. :)

Negative experience: Can't understand why so expensive considering operating as a not-for-profit organisation and also receiving government funding?? Seems deceptive in the reply: Calls themselves an organisation but then says they are a business. Gosh make up your mind and be one or the other!

Fantastic experience: I was a little apprehensive given the reviews below, but I have to say I had an excellent experience from arranging an appointment (during interesting COVID times) to actually having the appointment with Dr Jacqui Boyle. The team at reception were really friendly, Dr Boyle was great and the Practice Nurse, Lea, was so calming. Very informative appointment and worth the cost for peace of mind,

Negative experience: Would not recommend dr cely goeltom at Clayton. Pushes birth control and antibiotics. When asked about side effects to medication she always says there is none when there is. I specifically asked her about doxy and sensitive skin and she told me that is not a side effect - it is a listed side effect? Her advice actually made me alot worse off than when i first attended the clinic. She is a very medicate first ask questions later kind of dr. Didn't take any of my symptoms of PMDD, acne or pains seriously, told me that birth control WOULD work for me, i just had to keep trying different birth control. Left multiple appointments upset and made to feel like i was the problem. Did not give me much to work with when i told her that birth control made my acne and moods worse and antibiotics only made my gut health and skin worse. Reception staff however were lovely, maybe other drs are better.. but this was a waste of time and money unfortunately. I found much better help with a qualified naturopath who specializes in women's health.

The treatment in which I received was a relaxed and very professional one, Dr Craig blandy is very respectful, very approachable and very good doctor who doesn't talk down to you, he is down to earth and provides you with great care and is thorough.
