The friendly and accommodating reception staff further contribute to creating a welcoming environment that puts patients at ease.

Overall, Belgrave Medical Clinic stands out as a fantastic choice for those seeking dedicated and personalized healthcare services.
Belgrave Medical Clinic: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff and top notch treatment
Fantastic experience: The doctors at Belgrave Medical Clinic are outstanding. Their wealth of expertise is matched by the compassionate and thoughtful care they always provide to their patients.
Positive experience: The staff were very friendly, it helped put me at ease
Fantastic experience: I'm new to the practice and have seen 2 of the GP's. I felt listened to and key points were explained well. It's nice to see holistic practice is still possible in very short appointment times. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Easy appointment, no wait time and they looked after me very well as I was quite unwell whilst there.
Positive experience: The service and staff are fantastic. However it was pricy @ $160 with only half back from Medicare.
Fantastic experience: I have been visiting Belgrave Medical for over eight years. While a little distance from my home, I am happy to travel to receive excellent care. Staff, doctors and nurses are always thorough, highly knowledgable, courteous and kind. Highly recommend as a private medical practice.
Fantastic experience: Professional and responsive
Fantastic experience: Excellent service & great explanation of my health concerns
Fantastic experience: Dr Katrina was amazing. I really felt listened to. Reception was lovely and the office doesn’t feel like a medical clinic, so my anxiety was much lower while waiting. Highly recommend :)
Fantastic experience: Friendly, kind , respectful , professional staff. Fantastic doctors.
Negative experience: I came to Belgrave Medical Clinic after experiencing severe medical trauma that left me deeply fearful and distrustful of doctors. At the time, I was also navigating a court case against a doctor who had harmed me. I hoped that Dr. Pike’s background would mean she understood the impact of trauma, but instead, she refused to acknowledge it. She consistently put me in distressing situations by forcing in-person visits rather than accommodating the simplest request of telehealth appointments for routine/non-physical needs—apparently because admitting that a patient could be traumatized by medical professionals was too unsettling for her. Even after I brought in letters from the court and involved advocates to confirm my situation, Dr. Pike only grudgingly agreed to telehealth sessions. This came with veiled threats, making it clear that any perceived “misstep” would revoke this basic accommodation. Throughout it all, she reacted to my fears with anger, condescension, and disbelief, as though the idea that a doctor could do wrong challenged her personally. Her need for control and personal validation overshadowed her responsibility to provide informed, compassionate care, leaving me feeling unsafe and unheard. When I expressed I was rebuilding trust in doctors she even responded with "I have to also do the same with you". I don't know why a doctor would need to rebuild trust with patients. If she has this attitude she should chose a different profession. Patients aren't inherently untrustworthy, it's a toxic and dangerous attitude to have. After nearly a year of this, with the help of an organisation who was aware of what was happening here I finally found a trauma-informed doctor elsewhere who accommodated my needs, like telehealth, validated my experiences, reinforcing how inappropriate Dr pikes behaviour was, and treated the harm I suffered with compassion, and helped rebuild my trust in medical professionals. Since leaving Belgrave Medical Clinic, my health and well-being have significantly improved. I am in recovery finally. I strongly encourage trauma survivors to seek practitioners who genuinely understand trauma-informed care, and I urge this clinic to pursue professional development in that area. Patients deserve respect, empathy, and a space where their experiences are not dismissed but acknowledged and supported.
Fantastic experience: Very good doctors
Fantastic experience: The reception and doctors are very professional and caring.
Fantastic experience: Knowledgeable and thorough GPs.
Fantastic experience: Dr Dong is very caring, thorough and patient. Can’t thank her enough for looking after my mom. Highly recommend Dr Dong.
Fantastic experience: Both my daughters see Dr. Katrina and they couldn’t be in better hands. The nurses and administration staff are fantastic as well. Couldn’t recommend the practice more highly
Fantastic experience: Without a question the best medical clinic going. I travel over an hour for appointments. The staff are absolutely professional in looking after you and will go out of their way to make sure you get the best medical attention. There is a variety of other associated medical, physical and mental parts with the Belgrave medical centre and all are of the highest standard you will find in Victoria.
I know how challenging it is to get personalised health care and having to travel is not ideal. Now we have Video health for the time being but the Government has not committed to that. Having a back up is still important, but caution "just" going anywhere.
Fantastic experience: Great clinic. Excellent doctors. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: Dr Sara MacGibbon is my go to for calm, professional and assuring medical advice and treatment. Thorough and kind. I’m a 64 yr old bloke and she has been a lifeline to me.
Fantastic experience: Professional practice. Reception ladies always accommodating. Care nurse and Dr on time. Quick and easy process to pay and re book. Been coming here just over 9 years. Best think I ever did. Love the drive up the hills and the beautiful gum trees.
Fantastic experience: We see Dr Sara Macgibbon. She is fantastic! So caring, great with kids, always listens to you and never makes you feel silly for asking questions. We love her, she has almost become part of the family as my daughter calls her Aunty Sara! Quick shout out to the ladies at reception too! They are all great and always helpful! Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Very caring personal

Fantastic experience: Very pleased with the outcome of the visit. Dr listened to what I had to say, did a comprehensive check and sent me off with the right prescriptions.
Fantastic experience: Professional service. Respectful staff, mindful of being on time. Dr Amanda was insightful and patient, whose suggestions were useful and practical.
Positive experience: been coming here for over 20 years and there is always great female doctors. only down side is after 20 years the reception staff just dont seem to know patients but the doctors are more important. Waiting times are usually very good either on time or up to 10 mins wait which is great.
Positive experience: I was seen promptly by my GP.
Fantastic experience: Excellent patient care, always
Fantastic experience: My doctor after 61 years is my best ever. She provides a very down to earth style, great medical support for someone who needs it.
Fantastic experience: Belgrave Medical is always very good and my recent visit was no exception. Huge thanks to all the staff. The doctors are very thorough and never make you feel rushed. The nurses and admin staff are also very helpful and professional. Jan Lancaster
Fantastic experience: The Belgrave Medical Clinic has been my regular clinic for doctors and vaccinations for several years. They offer a wide range of services and have a few doctors to choose from. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a warm, friendly atmosphere.
Fantastic experience: Excellent care.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff and the doctors take the extra time to fully listen and carefully diagnose. Generally fairly easy to get an appointment and super simple to book online.
Fantastic experience: Great staff always helpful.
Fantastic experience: Katrina is an amazing GP. Authentic, genuinely caring and on the ball. My regular GP had recently left another clinic and Katrina is an excellent replacement
Negative experience: I have a spide bite. They would not see me because they wanted to make a new patient booking for 30 minute instead of the usual 15 minute booking. Thanks you have turned away a patient who needs medical attention so the doctor can ask questions non related to a spider bite. Great work!
We appreciate your feedback. We have policies in place that ensure we can provide patients with a high standard of care. We are sorry to hear that this wasn’t achieved under your circumstances. Our doctors and staff have discussed how we can better manage a short consultation with a new patient and would like to review this matter further. Please get in touch with the clinic and ask to speak to a member of our Governance Team.
Negative experience: Regrettably, I have to leave a 1 star review. Attended my first appointment at this clinic as a new resident of the area and left my appointment in tears. At no point did i feel like i was being treated with the respect any fellow human deserves. Was made to wait outside in the rain, I assume because i entered wearing a face mask out of respect for the workers. Was charged an exorbitant fee for a medical certificate stating i would be absent from "school" - I am in my late twenties... and left feeling so much less than someone deserving of care. Not to dive into the specifics of my appointment but at no point did i feel like my concerns were being listened to by the doctor i had my consultation with. I left feeling unheard at best, and belittled for my illness and coinciding stress. I would really love to have found a good doctor here as it's in my local area but I have once again been treated so poorly by an Australian GP clinic. I would love to see you reevaluate your patient care. Specifically in the waiting period so as to not usher them outside to wait in the cold and rain. If the threat of a patient being unwell is so concerning I'm sorry to point out the obvious, but this is a doctor's clinic (??). Also, I am aware that I don't have experience to know why new patients are so feared by clinics, but there was a feeling that I was an imposter and unwelcome for being a first time patient here too.
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience at our clinic. We are sorry to hear that your experience was not a positive one. We do ask patients with respiratory symptoms to wait in their car until the doctor is ready and greatly appreciate your understanding in wearing a mask. It is completely unacceptable for anyone to wait outside in the cold and wet. This overall experience is unsatisfactory, and we ask that you call and request to speak to our Practice Principal or a member of the Governance Team so we can obtain details and address this issue.
Fantastic experience: Great medical clinic, easy online booking system, staff were super friendly and helpful, Dr Jamie was brilliant and answered all my questions! Best doctor in the area, highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Dr Barman was very kind and attentive . Reception staff have been helpful and kind
Fantastic experience: my experience it has the best staff-doctor-patient relationship
Negative experience: I have it on very good authority this clinic refused a very desperate man a Covid vaccine exemption, despite the man having a serious health condition above the threshold required. First do no harm?? Shameful
Fantastic experience: Great service ...the reception staff are so helpful and will aim to do the best for you
Negative experience: This clinic runs much more like a business than a health care provider. The staff talk in friendly tones but don't actually want to help you. The doctors here seem to lack a patient-focused approach - I never felt valued or heard.. The staff love enforcing their own rules, and charge a bucketload to treat you like an inmate. The phone "greeting" wastes so much time when trying to book an appointment. Parking is difficult, and they treat patients very suspiciously and condescendingly. I've never been so reluctant to book appointments with my GP.
Dear Celia, We apologize for the delay in responding to your review. Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. Your description is inconsistent with our long-term commitment to supporting the health and well-being of our community. Many staff and doctors live locally and work hard to respect the diverse needs of all our patients. When things do not work out we want to explore how we can do better. I could not find a record of your attendance at our practice, so I kindly ask if you would call to further share your concerns with a member of our Governance Team.
Fantastic experience: Reception Staff are amazing i cant speak highly enough of them i also want to thank Gail on a personal note i cant thank her enough for all her help she always bends over backwards for everyone she has been an amazing support for me every time i go into the clinic one day i was so upset and crying and she nurtured me and made me feel so much better
Negative experience: Attempted to make an appointment but was told that due to COVID and Flu like symptoms the appointment must be via phone. Fair enough. At the time of the appointment I was called and told in a condescending manner that I have not been a patient since 2013 and could either come in or pay without a rebate. I was also told i sound very ill?So according to this practice' policies I am a second class of person who does not deserve the same care of others. I am still ill and have so far been unable to find a quick alternative doctor. Disgraceful.
Dear Andrew,
you made an appointment online for a telehealth consultation. We noted that you were not eligible and rang to warn you that Medicare would not cover your consultation because you had not been seen at the clinic in the past 12 months.
This was the same advice that was given at the time you booked online and it was also recommended that you "call the clinic if you were not eligible".
This meant another patient was not seen in the early morning too late to try and fill and our receptionist endeavour to try and explain the Medicare rules under which we all have to operate.
We offer our patients after hours links to nurse and doctor services through our phone system to ensure patients are not having to go elsewhere or end up in hospital
Fantastic experience: Cannot fault this clinic. Reception staff are so friendly and all the doctors we have seen are very highly quality.
Behind the scenes we are peddling very hard every day to provide that little bit extra.
Fantastic experience: Cheers to probably the most cruisey vaccination experience at the pop-up clinic run by the crew at Belgrave Medical Clinic. Our nurse, I’m told her name is Merryn, was a you-beaut champion and clearly it wasn’t her first rodeo as she expertly comforted and distracted my two teens being jabbed… we were already winning at this point, as far as I’m concerned. Add onto an already awesome experience a well-managed drive-thru clinic with no waiting *and* easy to follow online bookings! All big ticks. Thank you!
Nothing as big as this, managing hundreds of patients a day safely and professionally can be done without a great deal of planning and commitment. Long hours, rain and wind, but with nurses like Merryn we can just get on with what needs to be done.
Fantastic experience: Great Doctors , great nurses , great reception staff.
This is what we aspire to every day
Positive experience: Always had professional treatment there. Been going on and off for 30 years. Sometimes you have to wait but I haven't been to a Doctors surgery that has ever run on time.
I think that everyone appreciates the extra benefit that is given even if we run a bit late.
Negative experience: Had a phone consult with a doctor here because I've developed a bad cough and it's keeping me awake at night. Dr Sara MacGibbon refused to write me a script for a cough medicine that actually works because they have codeine in them and codeine can be addictive... Also refused to write me any kind of script for sleeping tablets for my occasional issue of sleeping, as they can also be addictive. I'm a 35 year old working professional, home owner, dog owner, etc etc. But according to Sara it doesn't matter what you look or sound like or who you are, because anyone can get addicted to them. If I want to get high on addictive drugs I'll go and buy them from a drug dealer. I'd understand the ethical dilemma if I'd made any form of indication that I'm susceptible to drug addiction or a high risk patient, but when someone like myself who has no drug addictions or susceptibility to a drug addiction, and gives no indication of there being one, comes to a doctor with an issue that I know prescription medication can help with, and all the alternatives have failed, I expect to be treated like a responsible adult that can take care of himself, and not like a child that needs protecting because they can't be trusted! How arrogant of you Dr Sara MacGibbon, to treat me like that. What's next? Have me locked up in a padded room just in case I'm the type of person that drives recklessly, self harms, vandalises, assaults people, commits arson, buys heroin, drinks too much alcohol? Ridiculous!
Codeine is a controlled substance. Prescribing over the phone for someone not seen before is a reportable offence. Having a regular GP makes life easier for everyone.
Negative experience: Did not attend clinic, however was advised that I would need to pay $35 for a single set of PPE for a GP to see my infant son with a respiratory symptom (cough, just want to exclude need for antibiotics etc). Having worked in the public health system for 12 years I think this is a disgrace, and I know for certain that it is grossly disproportionate to the actual cost of PPE, which would probably cost a couple of dollars at most. To me this is daylight robbery and a simple money grab, taking advantage of the pandemic and people's anxiety regarding coronavirus. I have no feedback about the quality of medical care however I would hope it is a redeeming feature.
Sorry Andy. Some selected clinics were provided $120 to see a patient with suspected Covid-19. The cost of putting these PPE kits together without help was never going to be covered by Medicare but we tried our best. It all looks so easy but GP's were never supplied with necessary PPE and many simply did not offer any service whatsoever. It has been tough for everyone.
Fantastic experience: The doctors and reception staff are all very dedicated, polite and helpful. The best healthcare I have experienced.
Stephen, every day we try harder and Receptionists are such an important part of the team.
Negative experience: Tried to make an after hours appointment today so husband could drive me as experiencing extreme dizziness and unable to drive myself during normal working hours. Explained all this to the receptionist but as I'm not an existing patient was refused the 7pm time slot. Feel extremely frustrated as can't seem to get an appointment anywhere in this area!
Angela, you distress is recognised. For anyone who moves into the area I suggest that you make contact with a local clinic and have a check up so you have a foot in the door when urgent matters occur. Having worked at Angliss for many years I can recommend the hospital for urgent matters if you cannot see a GP as sometimes that is a better option if tests are required in the late evening.
Fantastic experience: I have been going here for about 2 years. Seeing the same doctor and maintaining consistency has been crucial for my health care needs. When my regular doctor is unavailable, I have been very happy with the service I have received from the other doctors. I have had nothing but a great experience with this clinic and recommend it to my friends and family.
Thanks Tiffany, It is that consistency that makes a difference. Just going anywhere can lead to a bad experience.
Fantastic experience: Excellent care. I have been going to this clinic for almost 10 years. My wife and I are in our 70's, and we know our healthcare is in good hands. the doctors, nurses and office staff are all friendly and show genuine care and concern. In the days where the medical profession becomes more and more remote from the patient - this clinic provides modern services with that old-fashioned personal care.
Thanks Rob, what we do cannot be taken for granted. It is most appreciated that you can see and experience the difference.
Fantastic experience: top quality service from the front desk lovely people and my doctor kalen winters is on the ball and a correct and caring doctor .
Sometimes we are not appreciated but I think every person gets good care and if the do not we want to know so we can actually do better if at all possible.
Fantastic experience: I have been coming to this clinic for many many years and have found every doctor, nurse and receptionist go way above the "normal" effort to make sure I get the best care and treatment.
It is a concern to us that patients need to travel distances to achieve quality care. Thank you for your appreciation.
Fantastic experience: I have been coming to this clinic since I was born.. So 42yrs ago!.. ABSOLUTELY all have been wonderful Drs and extremely attentive and follow through. Have tried elsewhere when we moved but have since gone back willing to travel the distance!.. Have also recommended this clinic to friends who to have now been coming for years and love it!
We hate to see patients leave but there are times when travel can become difficult. Having a local GP even if it takes a few attempts and word of mouth is important. It's your long term health that counts and if you find it difficult we can give a new GP a good briefing and arrange transfer of comprehensive medical records etc.
Fantastic experience: I'm really puzzled by the negative reviews - this place has been great for me, and the reason some doctors stay short term is because they have a placement program for registrars - the doctor I saw was one of these and she was so amazing, very knowledgeable, up to date and compassionate. Thanks guys!
Dear Sascha,
I am delighted to read your comments. Our doctors are very special to us and they all support the younger doctors and this offers a very special team dynamic.
We have some very special projects and plans that in addition to acute care, support healthy lifestyle, comprehensive assessments and preventative care.
We try to exceed in every area and develop new ways of providing care and particularly ensure those with complex medical requirements are provided with longer consultations with our multidisciplinary team where necessary. These are often bulk billed and result in reduced frequency of attendances.
We greatly appreciate your time to show your positive appreciation. It gives us a boost to grow and do more for our special community.
Dr Dennis Gration
Fantastic experience: All the staff from the doctors to the front desk are polite friendly helpful and courteous.
Thank you for your praise.
The clinic has been growing a team of skilled General Practitioners, Diabetes Educator, Dietitian, Exercise physiologists, Psychologists and Practice Nurses and Mental Health Nurses to offer far more to our patients.
As skilled knowledgeable people we try to make sense of the vast amount of health information and make it relevant to your long term health and well-being .
We strive to be the best of the best, but remain an accessible reliable trustworthy health service, we try employ locally and currently have 3 nurses, seven receptionists, a practice manager and administration staff all living locally.
We hope that our patients respect our service which in turn encourages us to remain enthusiastic in what we do and remain open to suggestions and patient experiences.
Regards
Dr Dennis Gration
Negative experience: Not happy with the turn over of doctors in the centre. I found one good Dr and a year later he left. I found it was common practice at this clinic. I left to go another clinic.
Hi Venus,
Some of our doctors are in training to Specialist GP level. These Registrar doctors are selected by us because they show the qualities of GP's that want to be the best of the best. The downside for you and us is that they have to move on as a part of their Specialist GP training.
Fortunately in recent years we have doctors who have returned after completing their extensive training and attained their Specialist GP qualifications.
These specially selected Registrars leave because they have to, and return because they want to.
At one stage I was the only full time GP in the area, dedication to our community and persistence in building this high standard service is now benefiting our community.
It is not much consolation to you but someone has to put up their hand and help prepare the best GP's for our future. I am pleased you were so appreciative of one of these doctors in training.
Our team of permanent doctors has now grown as well as so many other services from excellent permanent nurses, diabetes educator, dietitian, psychologists and exercise physiologists.
Fantastic experience: Having moved from interstate I found myself with serious medical issues and no GP I felt comfortable with. After visits to several clinics which left me wondering as to the level of care I was receiving, I finally located the Belgrave Medical Clinic. Following my first visit I decided that this clinic was above and beyond those previously attended. All staff are kind, friendly, courteous and professional. The clinic offers a number of medical services in house and has a vast external network for those services not internally available. All Drs and nurses are extremely thorough and ensure complete examinations in determining solutions to reported problems. Alternative diagnosis are only ruled out until proven not a contributing factor. Due to issues beyond my control I am required to regularly attend a GPs office for review. Although I have move address and have been living 2 to 3 hours away from Belgrave for approximately 4 years, I gladly travel as often as required to maintain the level of service I receive from the people staffing this clinic. I have no doubts that my life and its quality is far better for the effort continuously applied by these wonderful people.
Dear Les, your comments are greatly appreciated as they reflect what we set out to do every day responding to the health needs of every patient.
