Fantastic experience: Had a travel consult with Dr Shad very knowledgeable, patient and kind. Follow up injections with Nurse Molly who answered any question i had and was quick and painless. Follow up injection appointment with Dr Phoebe walked me through the whole appointment and had a lovely manner. Injection with Kath very generous with Jelly Beans and friendly + quick! 10/10

Fantastic experience: Dr Akram was very welcoming and made us feel comfortable to discuss our travel vaccination needs. His knowledge in the area is second to none and he provided a very detailed , evidence based plan of action for our needs. We felt very confident that we went to the right place. He also has a great sense of humour and made the appointment an enjoyable experience. The nurses were great and we hardly felt the injections and the jelly beans were a special touch as we left. Fantastic experience: From reception, to travel Dr Akram and nurse Kathy who assisted me with my travel vaccinations- everyone was warm, welcoming and friendly. Dr Akram was comprehensive with his medical travel advice and Nurse Kathy gave me 4 injections and I barely felt a thing! I even got some jelly beans for being brave! Thank you to all for your help today to ensure my trip is a safe one! Even the lady at the QML at Ocean Wave was lovely and was so gentle. Thank you :)

Negative experience: Disgusting place I witnessed a lady fall in their car park and they do not want to know about it fobbing off all enquiries and refusing to hand over incedent report at all .Shame on you .

Fantastic experience: Dr. Chowdhury may be the best, most caring, knowledgeable GP I've ever had. I'm 46 yo.

Negative experience: The nurses are great however the doctors and the receptionist don't seem to care. 2 of my sons saw a doctor who made 1 son feel shit about himself and the other ended up with an ear infection a day later because the doctor couldn't be bothered to look in his ear. I called to make an appointment with a different doctor and the receptionist stated that this was not possible as the doctors don't see other doctors patients. Then lied and said they are not talking on new patients when I challenged her.

Fantastic experience: We went to Ocean Wave Medical to receive our Yellow Fever vaccinations. We were very impressed by the comprehensive approach by Dr Amir Akram who thoroughly advised us of the necessary precautionary immunisations for our planned itinerary. The nurses too were excellent. My husband and I believe this was one of the best experiences we have ever had at a medical practice and we throughly recommend this practice.

Negative experience: I went in and their systems were “down”. Couldn’t give me a script for antibiotics - why else am I paying to see a doctor?? They said they would text it to me that day or the next - they didn’t. I called them, they said “oh just come pick it up today!” Rushed over after work seeing that I would make it 15mins before 5pm (they’re Google online closing time). They’re closed. I tried to call and they wouldn’t answer. I paid massive fees for an appointment that got me nothing. I’m incredibly ill and a uni student so don’t have money to just call another doctor. I’ve never felt so helpless. I just want my antibiotics. Don’t go here ever.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been with Ocean Wave Medical since this practice was in Currimundi, so my long term connection with this practice speaks for itself. I’m grateful to all the many staff I’ve encountered over more than a decade of association. The measure of any association or relationship is how differences are resolved, not that there are never differences, which is unrealistic. I have nothing but praise for this practice. Thank you to all at Ocean Wave over the years.

Negative experience: Dr Akram was rude, condescending and offered little to no help. Will never return to this practice.

Positive experience: Can't say enough thank you to Dr shad, really helpful and good listener, so glad that my mum was squeezed in today after been rescheduled multiple times by Dr Lorna. Appreciate the reception for quick rescheduling.

Fantastic experience: Great nurses, very friendly and knowledgeable. It was very busy at reception area with people and phone ringing but the girls there were very helpful and patient.

Fantastic experience: Thank you Ocean Wave Staff for the smooth running of our doc appointment today. The reception staff very friendly and were still smiling even through they were incredibly busy, and were having to deal with a few very entitled people at the desk. It was interesting to watch while we waited for our appointment. The nurses were lovely and informative with whatever we needed to know.

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been going to Ocean Wave Medical for years, even when they were located at Currimundi. The staff have always been good, helpful and caring. In the last year the reception team in particular have been amazing to our family. We have been into the clinic way too may times. The service has been brilliant. Negative experience: Having been here for few years for all my family and no any complaints before until this morning. Just cannot believe how terrible attitudes (hanged out a phone call) and how much blamed I got from someone else’s mistakes. Definitely poor communication lines between reception ladies, Gp and customers. No one will and can come for an appointment she doesn’t even know (no one told, no message reminding as usual). Prediction is really out of my ability. The reception 1st on last Friday afternoon didn’t tell me she booked on an appointment for me at 0900 on this Tuesday, what I was told is my GP will call me back for missed phones calls and my test results (test results within normal range doesn’t always need an appointment). The reception 2nd on this morning who picked up my phone call at around 0840, didn’t tell me I will have an appointment in 20’ minutes since I tried to book an appointment ASAP (previous receptionist was checked before booking, I didn’t know staff or routine have changed). The reception 3rd, blamed me missed an appointment which I didn’t exactly know with terrible attitudes and hanged out a phone. Listening to what are customers needs, how to solve a problem instead of arguing whose mistakes is a kind of professional for receptionist as well.

Fantastic experience: The receptionists always go beyond to help with appointments which these days are the doctors are booked up to weeks in advance. Dr Fogarty, my doctor for the past two years recently retired. He supported my mother through her difficult health issues with great care and honesty. I now see Dr Sylvia. I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to replace Dr F but I have and am very happy with Dr S. My husband and sister see Dr Shad who has been amazing and

Negative experience: after 16 years supporting this medical practice and being treated by a truely wonderful Dr Fogarty who had retired recently and having really good service by the office staff and nursing staff i was told that they did not want to see me anymore and to find another practice to go too.i was told this by the owner and an intern Dr on 2 separate occasions apparently they don't want to prescribe my medication anymore .i have serious back complaint, severe dermatology condition and Leukaemia I felt abandoned and had to find a practice that would take me on, i feel that is unacceptable in a community like Caloundra who is made up of older people and families being the majority. My medication was initially prescribed by my specialists and Dr Fogarty would renew my prescriptions for me . i feel the practice didn't deserve to have such a wonderfull Dr and definitely didn't deserve the loyalty of there patients.

Negative experience: Overall an very very very average place to be treated. There location!! Is top notch but other than that the treatment is very sub-par DOCTOR Sylvia Shrestha is a caring , kind hearted doctor, unfortunately she only works at Ocean wave 2 days a week which makes it very hard to get an appointment!! The other staff: For the amount of doctors ocean wave seems to be a lot(I've seen 4 of them, no one cared till Dr Sylvia, the others were very very very rushed, I understand they're on a time limit but wow!!! No CARE factor you go to doctor feeling UNWELL! and normally a bit sad , I have personally have left Ocean Wave crying because of treatment given to me by receptionist staff and previous doctors (they won't even look at you whilst you're explaining your condition/illness ). On two occasions!!! Like what...... it's in the name CARE! HEALTH CARE! I had a tiny sniffly nose one day DURING WINTER ❄️ everyone I know sniffles in winter!!!!! Doctor(who I'm not going to name ) Examined my leg!!! He Stated : Ohhhhh weird!!!(oh yeah Google told me same thing and I pay $80 for you to say ohhhhh that's strange ) I went to the doctor for a lump on my leg!!! Which 3 doctors at Ocean wave have seen, they say ""they say: ohhhhh it's a bruise, ohhhhh wow!! It's a big bite!! Ohhh wow , that's been there a while " Ohhhh wow put this cream on it , 12 months later is it still there.... and turns out it is cancerous and has been to removed via an operation!!!

Negative experience: Terrible experience, particularly with Dr Amur Akram. He refused to do a simple health plan for my child’s school! I’m assuming this plan would have been the most basic thing he’d do all day, I was not expecting him to refuse to do it. I’m taking the family somewhere else. Disgusted.

Fantastic experience: What a wonderful clinic! I am not from this area and I needed a last minute appointment for my daughter and myself. The receptionist Jade was incredibly lovely and very accommodating. The nurse was also so kind and patient with my young children. We saw Dr Shad and he was absolutely brilliant. He is very knowledgeable and he made my children and I feel very comfortable. It was lovely to walk into a Drs appointment and be greeted with a smile. When my family and I move to this area this will definitely be our family clinic. Highly recommend! Thank you for such a lovely stress-free experience!

Fantastic experience: Having recently removed myself from another Medical Practice were the Reception staff where absolutely the rudest I have ever encountered I have found Ocean Wave Medical an absolute breath of fresh air. They have been friendly and Professional .The two Doctors that I have dealt with have also been Professional and easy to talk to. I am so delighted to have found Doctors that I can relate to and feel that they want to help.

Negative experience: Not open Sunday even though the big sign on the building says OPEN Sunday 8:30-1 LOL

Negative experience: go to this place when ever my kids are sick last few times ring up at 8am to be told they can't see my 8 month old who has sore ears not the first time this has happend seem you need to know in advance your going to be sick dont understand why they can't keep a few spots open for this reason seems abit silly

Negative experience: Doctors run late and staff fail to advise. As someone who is sick it is polite to advise that the doctor is running late by 3 patients to give me alternatives to go home and come back.

Positive experience: Hi there, I am a regular that goes to ocean wave medical for check ups, I have noticed the girls that check you in and take payments are getting ruder and ruder. The doctors here a lovely. A shame about the reception girls.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic caring practice, my son had a terrible skateboarding accident this morning and I just rushed him into Ocean Wave in a panic and they took him straight into the nursers and they were so caring of his special needs and explained everything to him and the doctor was so thorough and caring thank you so much.

Negative experience: Love my doctor Dr Vercoulen and have enjoyed other visits with the doctors. However the desk staff are extremely rude and not helpful, just out to make money. I tried to book for my routine whooping cough vaccination today (standard for pregnant women) and it should be bulk billed as its part of the government initiative. I just wanted to see the nurses to get the injection but was told I HAD to see the doctor before hand to make sure everyone was ok and would be billed for this. I am apart of a midwifery team (not GP shared care) so I do not need to see my GP before the injection. I told the receptionist this on the phone and she would not listen to me, kept insisting it was at the doctors discretion as to how I was billed. I am in severe financial hardship and can not afford $70 to see a doctor when I don’t need too. As if a pregnant women has enough issues. I now have to find somewhere who will give me the injection and that will not bill me.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of OWM for over 10 years now going back to when they were based at Currimundi. I have had nothing but positive experiences with the doctors, nurses and staff here. I have found them to be caring, empathetic and accommodating. I have lived at various locations on the Sunshine Coast but always come here for my medical needs.

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been patients of this practice for over 4 years (previously at Currimundi also). I have always been completely happy with the care provided. Absolute excellence and professionalism from the front reception, nurses in procedure room and the doctors. Particular mention to Dr Akrim, Dr Moore, Dr Vercoulen, Dr Maria. All wonderful, experienced caring doctors who I believe work hard to provide the best medical care for their patients.

Fantastic experience: Modern facility. I noticed there were a few negative feedback reviews here, particularly about the front desk staff. While some of them are young, they were courteous. Even offering dinner suggestions for us out of towners! So we can't fault them. The waiting room is spacious and even has a good sized play area for little children. Note it's not fenced in, so don't expect to be able to drop and forget your little tacker. The nurse who took our son's initial obs was lovely and friendly. Dr Geoff Broad was friendly, courteous, professional and did not make us feel rushed at all, like some other bulk billing places do. He made our 18 month old feel secure and safe for him to complete his checkup without resistance or tears! Totally recommend this surgery as a family GP practice.

Fantastic experience: The friendly staff answered all my questions and assisted me in my first experiences here with travel vaccinations that I had not received before. This will be my new GP and likely help with other allied health services from now on. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Needed a vaccine before my trip hadn't done it before so wasn't too sure but was really happy with how it all went. Friendly staff were able to fit me in and answered my annoying questions ha. Will definitely be coming back for my other needs now I think.

Positive experience: I have only ever experienced wonderful service. The reception staff have always been very accommodating and I have always been very happy when visiting the Centre.

Positive experience: Kelly at the front desk is always very helpful and understanding. Most patients are physically and emotionally fragile with a health issue when they come in and it is vitally important that the desk staff recognise this and treat them with empathy. Kelly does this in spades.

Negative experience: The rudest reception staff I have encountered! They were giving attitude to patients and doctors. A very unpleasant experience.

Negative experience: Called for test results and was greeted by an extremely rude receptionist who could not care how anxious I was for my results. Eventually, after a heated conversation I got my results. Will never return to this place and will tell everyone I know how this clinic treats their patients. Doctors need to put their paid staff in place or replace them.

Negative experience: No humanitarians work at this practice Rude rude rude staff..... Not one ounce of professionalism...... Sciatic pain is no fun but to have a doctor laugh at me while I was lying on the floor trying to put my socks on is not on. Would not like to be really sick or injured in the hands of these unprofessional people and staff....... One star is to good........try -10 stars.

Fantastic experience: Wow so sorry to hear that Sarah M. I visited Dr Asimanogi O'Hagan today as my doctors weren't open and found Dr O'Hagan very approachable, extremely through, professional, empathetic and happy to deal with. I left the surgery full of confidence knowing I was well taken care of and every option for my treatment given. I will have no hesitation in returning.
