Negative experience: I had a really poor experience with podiatrist Emily Smith. The consultation itself was fine, however there were serious issues with the invoice. My initial consultation should have cost $90, but I was charged an extra $135 for services I didn’t receive, totalling $225. I don’t know if this was an error by the receptionist or directed by Emily Smith, but either way it put me in an uncomfortable position, and it took months to get my money back. At first, I assumed the invoice was correct. Only after payment did I realise I had been overcharged $135. When I questioned it, the receptionist kept reassuring me it would be fine and that I “wouldn’t be charged for these services” in future visits. I left the centre, but something didn’t feel right so I called back asking for her to fix it, she kept reassuring me. It was only on the third time I pushed back that she agreed to file a claim with Bupa. Even then, she never once offered the option to resolve it on the same day, which I later learned would have been possible. What actually happened: 1. Bupa’s claim process took over four months. 2. The receptionist only requested a refund for one of two items, which I only discovered by following up with Bupa. 3. Worst of all, Bupa told me the clinic could have refunded me on the spot, but that option was never offered. There was no follow-up, no ownership, and I had to chase every step myself. This issue could have been fixed immediately, but instead I was left in an exhausting and frustrating situation. The whole process felt dishonest and left me questioning whether this is standard practice at the centre. I am glad I spoke up when something didn’t feel right, but I wonder how many people haven’t. I would not recommend this clinic.

Negative experience: Hi everyone Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Emily's clinic was quite disappointing. My foot was scanned while I was lying down and only with a laptop to prepare a shoe insert, which I found inappropriate since orthotics are used while standing or walking, not lying down. In contrast, my physiotherapist did a more comprehensive and detailed scan while I was standing and identified several problems in my neck, back, left knee and right ankle - problems that Dr. Emily, without a proper examination, could not understand why I said, "This is not you?"!! If I had any damage in these areas and my physiotherapist did it and the specialists confirmed that it required surgery. But I went to them strictly on the advice of my specialist, Dr. Jeff Ling, who insisted that I go to them. There were also serious problems with scheduling appointments. The secretary of Dr. Emily repeatedly canceled my reservations with explanations and in a short period of three hours before the cancellation, that the reason was not covered by insurance, I called the insurance but they said, but I had to see the doctor for a specific matter. This time she said that the doctor was in a meeting, exactly when my appointment was. On the same day, I was given three different reasons for the cancellation, which made me lose my trust. In another case, I drove a long distance to the clinic and called me only ten minutes before my appointment and was told that it was canceled again because I had already checked out and was at the door and as I was leaving, the phone came back to me, which had not yet been confirmed, and I realized that I was being turned away! We were discussing when Dr. Emily came out and asked what was wrong and I explained myself to them, the doctor agreed to see me for a short time, but started cutting out the orthotics without fitting them. The insoles for my shoes were too big and thick so that my feet were completely out of the shoes and made it impossible to walk or stand. This made me wonder if they were made for me at all. Then she gave me a ready-made insole to try on that was also not made for my foot and I might as well use them, because the surgeon wanted my foot to be made but it was not. The worrying thing is that the surgeon was waiting for Dr. Emily's report before continuing with the next stage of my treatment, possibly even surgery. All of this causes unnecessary trauma and stress and affects my overall healing process. I tried very hard not to write this but they left me no choice and maybe my feedback made them do their job properly. I just mentioned what had happened. Unfortunately, based on my experience I cannot recommend this clinic.,

Fantastic experience: Very delayed review… Rob Mullard is probably the most professional and best physios I have met and engaged. After a series of issues to rehab my hamstrings, misdiagnosed by other physios - Rob worked out quite quickly within the first 5 minutes into our first consultation that my hamstring was ruptured. It wasn’t something I was expecting, it was also how Rob informed me - he had a genuine sympathy when he delivered the news. I can say Rob has a genuine passion and care for every consultations I’ve had with him. He has also treated me for a tennis elbow injury and provided rehab that is not available anywhere nor any other physios have knowledge of which helped me to recover very quickly. Keep doing what you’re doing Rob! you are a legend.

Fantastic experience: I took my mother to see Doctor Jomaa for an opinion regarding her knee pain. Doctor Jomaa was thorough, professional and knowledgeable. He treated my mother with kindness and so much care- very appreciative!

Fantastic experience: The service was excellent from the Erin the Physio to the lady behind the counter. I felt Erin listened and understood what my issue was. I noticed within a few days after doing my exercises and stretches that I was feeling a lot better and confident to get back to work and move around. I will return if I need assistance again. Pricing was about normal, but wealth the service.

Fantastic experience: Dr Khashayar Heidara is a godsend, has helped me heaps with lower and upper body pain. Was in agony for weeks and has managed to relief all the pain. Highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: I don't usually leave reviews but this one is a must! Saw Trent for ongoing acute pain while playing tennis/sportsing. He immediately identified the issue, explained what it was and how to prevent it worsening while also treating the base cause. He took an instant 3d scan of my foot to order custom orthotics (that will be ready to go in 2 weeks) and both massaged the area to reduce the pain and strapped my foot + provided shoe recommendations. Two days later I feel like I'm walking on a cloud! Can't wait for my orthotics! He was super understanding and efficient and I cannot recommend him highly enough! Absolute professional legend! Franny at reception was also awesome! A+++ team!

Negative experience: I made an appointment to see a physiotherapist here. One week before the appointment I emailed my medical Imaging docs to reception and after 2 days I called to make sure they received it and I was told, yes it's in your file. On my day of appointment I asked the physiotherapist if he has seen the images and to my surprise he said No! He tried to check online and said internet is playing and no good connection etc. So all my effort to go and see a GP, get X-Rays and MRI was wasted just because no one cared to check them prior to my appointment and this is despite the fact that I even called to make sure all have been received. I really don't bother with this centre anymore as it seems three is lack of professionalism and respect towards client's time and effort.

Fantastic experience: I have found the receptionists to be lovely and I have been in pain for so long, but I saw Emily the Podiatrist who has given me orthotics that she makes herself and were only around $50 from memory. I was also told that the sneakers I was told they didn't give me enough support. I am definitely going back again next year.

I've experienced more progress in a few weeks with Brent than I've seen with other physios in Sydney over the course of several months. Prior to visiting SSMC I'd almost lost hope in restoring full function in my shoulder and getting back in the gym. That hope has been restored

Negative experience: $230 for a 15 minute initial consult that would have lasted probably 5 mins if i wasn't asking many questions. Ultrasound lasted less then a minute. Diagnosed so quick and told i need PRP injections to fix my shoulder issue which I've had for 10+ years. PRP injections are about $600 a pop. Felt as if the doctor really didn't care and was only interested in pushing PRP because of the profit. I'd never go back here again, they did not take the time to properly diagnose me and seems they are only interested in making money off PRP injections. I also told them I was on anti-inflammatories which you cannot be for 2 weeks prior to your injection (researched this) but they booked me in for the shot 1 week after. 0 care. I left their honestly feeling like i was robbed of my money and time.

Fantastic experience: Can't thank Henry enough for his help. He's understanding, motivating and expert physio. His treatment and exercise plans gave me strength and confidence back in my knee after ACLR. Highly recommend!!!

Fantastic experience: Came here for a lactate and aerobic threshold test to make sure I'm training in the right zone for mountain climbing. It was easy to book, the staff (I booked with Luke) were very knowledgeable as I described what I wanted and what I was hoping to achieve as a result of the test. I talked through where I was coming from in terms of knowledge and training and they were able to easily fill in the gaps and guide me towards the best way to assess my current situation. We performed the test and then they also took the time to talk through the results afterwards and how I might use them to implement my training.

Fantastic experience: Had my first visit here for remedial massage. Incredible customer service when I called up to make an appointment, the receptionist was very helpful in finding me a slot at short notice with Bandoll. I highly recommend him as a massage therapist, he was professional, very on point with treating my problematic forearms. He even went above and beyond to show me certain exercises to accommodate my training. Will definitely be coming back for another session with him soon.

Negative experience: Arrived to my first appointment at 7am and no one was in. Waited for 15 mins and saw on their website that they’re open from 8am. Waited till then and came back at the opening time and was told that the physio couldn’t see me even though I was on time and he wasn’t. Only time he would see me would have been 4 hours later. No apologies from him or even special treatment for his mistake. Regardless of this place being apparently “really great”, it was a poor customer service from them. Won’t be going to them again. Waste of time.

Fantastic experience: Painful left knee for about one year with very little relief from local physios. Brent diagnosed problem on first visit and with his advised exercise regime pain is easing daily. Execellent facility and physio.

Negative experience: DR. Kuah. A few years ago did stem cells for patella tendinopathy. I was misdiagnosed and so spent over $12,000 on a treatment that was never going to work. Sold it to me like a car dealer sells a car. Worst thing about it follow up treatment he just gave up on me and said Nothing can be done. Saw a Physio in the same Centre a few months later and Dr. Kuah couldn’t even say hello to me. Pathetic. Hope the new car is worth your soul.

Fantastic experience: Best physios in town, this place is the real deal where national athletes seeing their Physios and surprisingly the cost is very reasonable and the session time is long enough to get your problem sorted. I've been to many physios in the last 3 years and only Physios in this clinic is able to pin point to the real source of my complex muscle compensation pattern (caused by L5/S1 Spinal Fusion Surgery and deactivation of Glutes Muscles). The clinic is very well equipped, the physios are friendly, caring and very knowledgeable - for example, ability to read and interpreted MRI and CT scans, able to locate trigger points within seconds, perform gait analysis for me on different shoes to rule out my pronation problem - adjusted exercise program to work with my flat feet, etc. In summary, well rounded skills to point point the core of your problems and very customised exercise program to suit your body. Currently I'm on an exercise program that already begin to improve my quality of life significantly, I'm starting to experience more and more "good days" and the hope of getting back to normal is seem within reach. Such a great contrast from my previous Physios, who simply don't know who I am each time I walked into the door, working by the clock and simply told me to live with my conditions. Sydney Sports Medicine Clinic is a gold standard of physiotherapy, at least from my 3 years experience of seeing various Physio around Sydney, almost on the weekly basis. Special thanks to Tom Donaldson and Brent Kirkbride for such a fantastic job.
