Providence Medical Warners Bay: Reviews
Fantastic experience: As a new patient to this practice , and after a change of doctor within the practice. Has been almost life changing , Dr Sally Verheul is a very competent, understanding caring Doctor. I’m so glad I swapped over to her, this wonderful woman, goes above and beyond and I am so grateful. The front end staff are always so supportive. Thank you to all.
Negative experience: Staff are absolutely rude no care shown cold as ice do not go run by a bunch of clowns
Negative experience: Dr Fair likes is an incompetant, childish and rude practitioner.... Barely competent
Negative experience: Providence Medicals phone line is crap. It puts you on hold and then hangs up on you. Then other times it puts you through to nothing. Very hard when you’re trying to book an appointment for a mother in law who is sick with cancer.
Fantastic experience: My MIL has been using Providence for many years. Had to see Dr JHARNA today. She was lovely. Very helpful and, I feel, invested in my MIL issues. Thank you so much! Unfortunately, she was running very late, but I can see how that happens when you are interested in your patients.
Fantastic experience: Very happy with my GP . Often have to wait + no bulk billing .
Fantastic experience: Doctors are caring, supportive and knowledgeable. Staff are respectful and accommodating.
Fantastic experience: Our family has been seeing Dr Abiy Mebrate for a few years. We are extremely pleased with his quality of care. He is very personable and great with our children. The other doctors and nurses we have seen have also been great.
Positive experience: We have been happy with their doctors and the admin process seems to have got better.
Fantastic experience: Good selection of doctors, sometimes hard to get an appointment. Must book. No bulk billing. Appointments can be expensive.
Negative experience: Have been a patient for over 20yrs and yet it’s turned into a money grabbing practice. Doctors are great practice is greedy and don’t advise you have an outstanding bill from 5mths ago and won’t allow you to book appointments until you pay up! Well if you had advised me that a 2min call was going to cost me I wouldn’t have bothered and now being held at random and not allowed to make appointments or get scripts until I pay up even though I’ve had no letters or calls in regards to the outstanding bill!
Fantastic experience: I'm sorry for those that have had bad experiences but I can do nothing but thank this practice for their service. My wife and I see 2 different Doctors and both are fantastic ant the receptionists ae 10 times better than the last practice we were going to. Love the book on line. Have a look each day and you might find one but don't forget to cancel your future booked one.
Fantastic experience: My mother changed practices to Providence and has been seeing Dr Bhaskar. He is friendly, kind, compassionate and extremely thorough in his care. I was so impressed with his care for my mother that I and my family started seeing him too. His patient care and professionalism are wonderful.
Fantastic experience: Went for a medical appointment
Fantastic experience: Reception staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The doctors there are also very good and knowledgeable. The practice nurses are kind and great with kids. I always leave feeling that my family and I have been well looked after and provided with good advice.
Fantastic experience: Have always been matched with great caring doctors. Have been going here for over three years
Negative experience: Bad Service at high price. For a business that is supposed to support the community i dont feel supported or cared for!
Fantastic experience: I followed Dr Bhaskar here from his previous practice. My family has been seeing him for quite a few years now. You would struggle to find a GP with a more genuine care for his patients. He has gone above and beyond for my family more times than I would care to count and we are very grateful. So far as the rest of the practice goes, they've always been great to deal with. All round very happy to have my family being looked after by Providence.
Negative experience: 2 things, you can tap your phone and then tap your phone again to claim your rebate, I’ve proven this twice to 2 different receptionists. Also, why are the receptionists so rude and abrupt. Drs are great!
Negative experience: In my experience doctors are useless these days. They try and fail over and over again. Every once in a while they get something right. You should not have to wait for them when they are late, constantly.
Negative experience: After having Covid last year, I was still thrown in a isolation room for over an hour and forgotten about. Return this year no covid at all and still want me isolated but this time outside in 40deg heat for 15mins only to bring me into an empty waiting room, to continue waiting for another 40minutes.
Positive experience: Lovely doctors but my gosh the receptionists are so rude, a smile wouldn’t help!! if you’re that miserable in your job then leave.
Negative experience: Hesitant to leave an honest review because this practice has my personal information and I've seen on here that they aren't beyond harrasing people for leaving bad reviews. Just avoid this place at all costs.
Negative experience: The receptionist turned my son away because he didn't have a mask with him. They refused to give him a 10c mask. He had an appointment, arrived on time and they told him to go buy one. He did not have money so he missed his appointment. He is in a lot of pain from an ear infection. He also has very high doctor anxiety, so just getting him to go to an appointment is a miracle and being turned away just made it a whole lot worse. The receptionist just said, "if you refer our website...". Who randomly looks at your doctor's website before going to the doctor?!? Every other doctor we know of supplies masks if they are a condition of entry. They might have given him a mask if he told them he had no money, but that's not how anxiety works. We are now looking for a new doctor for him again. Once he feels uncomfortable with a doctor or practice, his anxiety will stop him from seeking medical attention until he has to call an ambulance. There is a reason why this practice has a 2.8-star rating at writing - they would rather deny medical care to a patient to save 10 cents.
Negative experience: Attended surgery looking for work,Practice Nurse. Spoke to Tracey PM and Nurse Manager sent resume as requested via email no reply to see if it was received sent another still no response. Why are people like this running a businesss Nothing from 2 management employees. It's not hard to reply to an email. Disappointing service
Negative experience: I'm not sure I've ever attended an appointment where the doctor has been on time. This afternoon I walked out after 45 minutes of waiting with zero communications from staff. How about you treat people with respect and stop booking appointments back to back with zero buffer time - or if you don't want to do that provide you could provide a discount as compensation. I'll be checking my Medicare account to ensure you haven't charged the tax payer the bulk bill amount. No wonder you enjoy such a low rating.
Fantastic experience: Dr Simon walters is the most amazing compassionate and invested doctor youll find in the southern hemisphere, even better man. I highly recommend him 110%. Thanks for everything doc
Negative experience: If there was a minus stars option I’d take it… where did you train your reception staff??!! Absolutely disgusting..shame on you.
Negative experience: Profit BEFORE people! My GP transferred there from another practice. I called to make an appt only to be told “his books were closed”. When I asked receptionist to pass on my disgust I was informed it was the decision of the Practice Manager - not the GP. Is this how you run a business? Shame on you!!!!!!!!!!
Negative experience: Basically told no sorry find somewhere else
Negative experience: Why is it so hard to get someone to answer the phone?! I've phoned 4 times today to chase some results & sat on the line for 5min each time just listening to the phone ring. This seems to be the case most days too - if the practice is that busy, please employ more staff.
Negative experience: Extremely disappointed as I’ve told to come back after 3 months coz all the doctors are busy.
Negative experience: Very rude receptionist when my husband called, I believe a young girl, so rude with no people skills. Have had 3 recent appointents at this practise and advised by one GP on the 2nd consultation that I had a serious concern and was told to make another appointment. No concern here, it's all about the $. I am now an inpatient on a surgical ward at Belmont hospital. What more can I say. I will never go back to that medical centre again.
Positive experience: I’ve always received amazing service from the doctors I’ve seen and also great reception at the door. That being said, there’s some young girl working at the desk giving attitude and not wearing her mask, being rude for her not knowing how to input a claim number, almost talking as if I’m being wrong whilst I’m being bubbly and kind. Not every patient is in a good mood as I am and I’m lucky I’m treated for a simple finger break, but I can’t imagine the feeling of someone with sickness being checked in by someone like that. Change jobs or do some internal work. Bad days happen but when it’s consistent, there’s a challenge here.
Negative experience: I don't understand how their is always high volume calls, I tried so many times to get through and I tired at all different hours all to just try and book my sons immunisation in as you can not do it online, it's a dam medical practice but these days you have more luck getting through to Medicare. Definitely not worth going here the care is just not their.
Negative experience: My entire family has been attending this practice since opening and have been seeing our current Doctor for over 20 years. Today my daughter needed an urgent appointment for a extremely painful situation. She is type 1 diabetic. Apparently according to the receptionist at the desk she should have been able to forsee the pain she would have been in and made an appointment earlier. It is crazy that you can get an appointment with any doctor for over 2 weeks. What happens to those who get sick today and need to see a doctor " Oh sorry your going to have to wait 2 weeks" There should be appointments held aside for urgent cases.
Fantastic experience: I always feel comfortable when I go to doctors or to see the nurses everyone is always friendly and polite
Positive experience: Great doctors.
Negative experience: ANSWER THE PHONE, PEOPLE!
Negative experience: Extremely unprofessional services !! A essential service that refuses to all !! Let’s you book online for an actual face to face appointments and when you get there you are refused entry on vacation status?! A Drs surgery is a essential service apparently
Fantastic experience: I have attending this practice since it’s opening. I had never experienced difficulty in obtaining an appointment and every doctor I have been scheduled to see have treated me with respect and empathy. They have also been very thorough . A one stop practice where staff go above and beyond and have never wavered from a professional approach. Their service during the epidemic has been exemplary. Their practice principles are simply the best .
Negative experience: This practice has so much potential - nice facilities, online booking system, helpful doctors... however they are let down by their administration systems and procedures. I find one or two of the front staff extremely unhelpful and borderline rude. In addition, they never seem to answer their phone. Some weeks I've called 4-5 times a day and it just rings out. I found it disappointing that no duty of care was given when my doctor left and no one called me to advise of her departure. Especially because I was waiting on the Dr's call to provide my most recent blood test results.
Negative experience: It’s not a nice feeling when you reach out for health advice during a pandemic and are ignored by your doctor! Living on the edge of greater Sydney and in an area with exposure sites that I had been to, I thought it best to make a Tele health appointment to renew prescriptions and discuss Astra Zeneca vaccine as I am still unable to get Pfizer with the age group restrictions. I was advised by receptionist I had an appointment booked for 11.15am on Tuesday 27th July. She said call might be later, but it would be before lunchtime. By Wednesday night I had still not been called. I filled out an online contact form. By Friday morning I had no call or response to online request, so I called again. Had the misfortune of being on the receiving end of one of Tamara’s bad days (I see from other reviews I’m not the only one! Shouldn’t be working in customer service!). She told me times don’t matter and up to doctor when they call. I got a text a while later saying I had a tele health call at 4.15pm that day. By 5.30 I still had not heard, rang again and was told I would definitely be called that night. At 6.37 I finally got my call. It lasted 3 minutes and was mostly spent with the doctor telling my I should get Pfizer and I was already eligible and should have had it by now. I explained several times that I was under 40 and still not eligible unless I have medical exemption. He argued I was wrong, clearly he has no idea about current health orders, and eventually said he would do an exemption letter and send through. By Monday lunchtime I had still not received the letter. I rang again, and was told it would be followed up. I received another call from the receptionist this afternoon that the doctor said I’m fine to get AZ. No explanation. No discussion of my concerns. Given the current mess the government has caused I would have really appreciated some time from my long term doctor to help me make the right decision and know what side effects to look out for should I have a reaction. If you’re not interested in helping your patients then just tell them straight up, instead of having them wait for help that’s just not coming!
Fantastic experience: I find staff rude inquiring about second covid vaccination which I am an excisting patient advised by my GP to go elsewhere because there was a shortage back in May.
Positive experience: My doctor is fabulous, and so are most of the staff...however there’s one receptionist who is extremely rude and abrupt - her name is Tamara. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, and I would like to think it was a one off encounter, but she is so rude every time, and she’s even worse on the phone. People like that shouldn’t be working in health care, especially considering that some patients are very unwell or elderly, it only causes people further distress and it’s completely unwarranted.
Negative experience: WORST PRACTICE EVER !! I left a honest review before about the long wait times before , say ur appointment is 2pm u wont get in till till 3.-3.30pm . There staff is extremely rude and uncaring , since i left my last review they rang me and rudely asked me to delete it , so i did in good faith only to find out my doctor ( sid bourke ) refused to see me with no explanation. Extremely unprofessional practice and they do not bulk bill. They cannot accept criticism/ constructive criticism. I will be taking this further Do not go here!!
Negative experience: Worlds rudest receptionist (Tamara). Called for an appointment, the first response I got was “is it urgent, sounds like it could wait for another day”
Positive experience: Most staff at Providence have been lovely. Unfortunately for me the receptionist that greeted me at the front door on the last occurrence must have been having a bad day, or bad week for that matter. I won't go into specifics online but treating each person with respect is important when dealing with customers day in day out. Because of this I have changed doctors.
Negative experience: The staff have changed, their all so rude. Before they changed to Providence Medical Centre they were lovely - the doctors were happy - and stayed, they don’t even bulk bill anymore!! But now the good doctors have left & the receptionist staff are horribly rude and have a pushy tone in their voices!!!
Fantastic experience: Dr Karla is a wonderful Dr and meets my problems head on .
Fantastic experience: The staff on the front desk are always so lovely especially during the covid period, it must definitely be tough on them. I definitely agree with the comment below, Dr Prictor is an angel!
Negative experience: They do not bulk bill or if they do only when it suits. Doctors say they care and maybe they do but from my experience and having been told on two occasions that from the doctor ""I am happy for you to see someone else"".Writing out blood pressure script without even checking my blood pressure. Writing out workers comp certificates without even checking out the functionality of the certificate and when I have mentioned about pain it is as though he doesn't hear and continues on with out complete focus on myself. For a 9.30 am appointment you can sit till 10.30 before you get to see him. Too often appointments are well behind as it seems to be all about the $$$$ Most staff are friendly but came be equally abrupt and short. Probably will not be back and I am looking elsewhere and yes it is hard when you have been associated with them for 15 years + One star for the staff that are helpfull over the years
Negative experience: 0 stars for the practice as a whole, rude reception. The only reason I'm leaving 2 stars is because Dr Lauren Prictor is an angel (she deserves 5)
Fantastic experience: Great practice with caring people
Thank you for your kind comments. Our aim is to care for all of our patients.
Fantastic experience: A Great practise with excellent staff.
Thank you for your lovely comments. Our staff are amazing!!
Fantastic experience: Excellent service.
Thanks James, So happy you are happy with the service.
Negative experience: Staff are great. Friendly. My doctor is great also. But 45mins wait!? Time management is poor. Ring me and tell me to come in half an hour. You’d thing they would have a system I place for this. I hate waste. Especially time. And I don’t do bad reviews. Ever. But this wound me up.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff.
Hi Graham - Thank you for the stars!! We have fantastic staff.
Negative experience: staff not helpful did not explain how i would pay when i was to get money back from Medicare did not put it back on card and told me it should be in the bank when thay did nothing and i had to make a claim my self and 1min the bill was $275 i sed that a bit next min it was $215
Negative experience: Poor service and rude staff. Huge wait times and they don’t care or offer an apology. This place offers bad service and a bad attitude towards its patience. Find somewhere else that deserves your custom because this one doesn’t.
Negative experience: Poor service, poor time management, no care factor, no assistance ever given. Need to ask if follow ups are required, Drs do bare minimum. Do not investigate matter correctly.
Negative experience: Not happy with it, Never on time. U have spoiled our plans. We waited over hour not happy.
Negative experience: Ordinary - I had a 4:30 appointment with the nurse then a 5:30 appointment with the doctor. Saw the nurse on time and went back to wait waiting room like an American bar - TV’s everywhere, games room for children - very noisy Didn’t see my doctor come and call anyone and after sitting in full view of reception for over an hour went to ask what the problem was - “ but you’ve been seen” - “if that were the case then why would I still be sitting in this dreadful sterile place?” “Because I’m sick and need to see a doctor” Saw the dr for 5 mins and reception messed up Medicare refund so now I have to go to Service Aust to get some money back.. NOT HAPPY JAN
