Fantastic experience: Eight weeks ago, I had a total knee replacement done by Dr Claire Bolton. Absolutely cannot fault her or the team with her, especially when I had to reschedule a couple of times. Physio, anaesthetist, physician, nurses, hospital...everything was so positive. Best experience ever. I'll need another replacement at some point and I will definitely be asking for her.

Negative experience: Absolutely pathetic service. Was booked at 10.15. They had me down for 10.30. When I showed her the confirmation message she didn't care that it said 10.15. I was waiting till 10.50. Explained I have another appointment to get to and just said ok bye, no we're sorry can we rebook just bye. Thanks for wasting my time.

Fantastic experience: All the physio people are amazing and they are very caring but my physio brendan oleary is the only physio for me, he's always results focused and very big on prevention through education.

Negative experience: My wife had a frustrating experience at reception.She was 10 mins late due to unavailable parking and difficulty finding the building and explained her situation to the receptionist on which she asked her to fill paperwork while she goes and checks with the physiotherapist.However one of the other receptionist signaled her to refuse for the appointment without even checking with the physio. And later on there was a situation where they wanted to further charge my wife for a missed appointment which she had showed upto but was turned away. She felt her the behaviour of that receptionist was very unprofessional and unaccomodating, something that would drive patients away.

Negative experience: Post Surgery care of a 75 year old is Negligence. The patient presented at another hospital and the Dr and Nurse team attempted to contacted Surgery to update them on their patient with no response on two separate visits to hospital. The Dr involved on the second visit to the hospital was absolutely disgusted with Sport Med and intended on taking it up with them. This review has been written while sitting in an ED waiting room with the patient.

Fantastic experience: Matt Muir was fantastic!! After years of back pain and doing the rounds of physio’s and chiro’s, Matt has finally sorted me out with a comprehensive workout plan. I wish I found him years ago!! If you feel like you’re chasing your tail and your symptoms constantly, go and see Matt who will finally give you the knowledge to sort your pain out at its source. Top shelf Matt, well done!!

Fantastic experience: On the 29th January 2025 Dr Nguyen preformed an ankle fusion on my right ankle. Previously I had bone on bone contact and constant pain. Being a 73 year old woman I thought this was just old age and something to be endured. After the operation and exercise advice received, I once again enjoy trekking outdoors. On the plus side the scar is barely visible. Many thanks to all at Sportsmed.

Fantastic experience: I had a partial femur replacement recently following a motorcycle accident from a couple of years ago. Dr Jake Jagiello was my surgeon and Dr Ben McDonald was my anaethetist. I felt relaxed and was made comfortable for the entire time I was there. The whole operating staff were friendly and made me feel at ease. My stay in the hospital was fantastic, all of the nursing staff were very knowledgeable and made me feel at home. Follow up appointments at the Hub have been very easy with all facilities on site. From the moment I arrived to book in for my hospital stay, through to now, with follow up appointments, I would highly recommend the Sportsmed Stepney Healthcare Hub, and anyone looking for an Orthopaedic Surgeon could not find a better person, in my opinion, than Dr Jagiello. He tells you exactly what is going on and uses every day words to help you understand your condition and what surgery is recommended.

Negative experience: Came in 3 times for physio and massage, all were great. Until today I couldn't make an appointment due to emergency work call out and they trying to charge me $110 for moving the appointment not even cancelling. I'll never be back. I actually wouldn't of cared if they charged me half price for cancelling but $110 is ridiculous for trying to reappoint a massage, no attempts made to even reappoint me. Now you won't get any money and you lost a good client. $50 cancel on a physio clearly stated on the wall, but masseuses cost double apparently.

Negative experience: Their receptionist at the front desk is very unprofessional. Their company accepted the medical plan provided by my medical office, but without reading it clearly, they made an appointment for the wrong treatment for me. In the end I was responsible for the payment. They passed the buck to me and my clinic.

Fantastic experience: Podiatry++ Just had an initial consult with the wonderful Nigel Rowe for pain in my right foot during walking. Thorough investigation, unbelievably useful information, excellent recommendations for ways to deal with the problem myself. Best value for my health-related dollar in a very long time. Can't speak highly enough of the care I received--as a whole patient, not a collection of symptoms.

Fantastic experience: I have been to hospital/s almost 20 times! Sports!! Used Sportsmed multiple times too. So I know hospitals pretty well. Today I've had a hip replacement and it was a great day. Dr P is the consummate ortho surgeon and super friendly. The theatre staff and recovery staff just outstanding at every point along my journey. Then nurse Olivia took me back to my room and cared for me. I think THE BEST nurse I've had in all my hospital visits. Everything done on time, precisely and with a smile. All my ward nurses have been excellent. Up to me now what I do with a new hip. Thanks Sportsmed.

Positive experience: In terms of service and care, Sportsmed is gold-class. They have great facilities and outstanding staff. But... it's 2023. How is it possible that I can't book online at all? Honestly this is the reason I don't go as often as I should, because I can't always make a phone call to do the booking, and doing it over email is just... weird. Pleaaaaase do something about online bookings!

Fantastic experience: I have had some issues with my hips, which resulted in multiple surgeries. I have been seeing Dr Shahrokhi who has supported me from beginning to the end. I would like to start off by saying this man is truly a gentleman and has been respectful of us as a family as well as individually with our circumstances. He does not have a god complex, like some surgeons do and he was always shown a lot of patience and he would take the time to explain everything to me. He is definitely patient/person centered and he was caring when it came to the surgeries that I’d had. I’d trust Dr Shahrokhi and the team at Sportsmed Stepney with my life. Thank you to all the kind nursing staff that I came across and a special thank you to Dr Shahrokhi himself. I had a knee arthroscopy here.The teams friendly, professional, caring and high standard of medical service was appreciated. I felt well cared for at every step. Negative experience: without knowing truly what my issue was with my shoulders got a $300 MRI for it to come up with nothing then getting asked to get a quarterzone injection which he basically said hopefully it fixes the issue never going again waste of time and hard earnt money

Fantastic experience: Amazing facility, As part of my T1 diabetes management was reviewed by podiatrist Manning, he took the time to explain how I could prevent and mitigate risk of any damage to my feet along with updating my orthotics, administered some foot care and demonstrated some things I could do to maintain healthy feet.

Negative experience: Very Disappointed and would not recommend the Dietician. For an initial appointment I was out the door in less than 30min and hit with a $130 bill. I was looking for assistance in lowering my cholesterol through diet management. I had gone to the trouble of recording my diet history for the last 10 days, and provided a copy of my recent blood tests. I was asked a number of generic questions about my diet and lifestyle habits, but no measurements of my weight height and activity level. There were no goals set, nor a road map of any action plan to help me reach my goals. I wasn't even offered or it wasn't suggested that a follow up appointment to track my progress be made. I was expecting at a least a personalised meal plan tailored to my needs; goals which set out ways to achieve a healthier and sustainable dietary changes, and altered according to body needs and preferences at subseqent appointments. I was given this print out as suggestions for meals.

Fantastic experience: For the first time in two years I'm finally pain free thanks to surgery undertaken by Dr Rob Wallace. Apart from being a great surgeon he's a bloody nice person. I cannot praise him enough..thank you Dr Rob! Thank you to all the nursing staff..brilliant and caring.

He is experienced and friendly. Moreover, all nurses are very friend, specially Christina. You are their responsibility untill you are there. So, I highly recommend sportsmed.

Fantastic experience: Just like to thank the nurses and the chef's for taking wonder care of me, had shoulder surgery day before my birthday and the next day on my birthday the chef's brought me in birthday cake and wished me a wonderful birthday, what a beautiful thing to do. Fantastic experience: The team at Sports Med were wonderful, friendly and very accomodating during my hospital stay. Fantastic experience: I recently underwent a surgery under Dr Domenic Leonello. The care I received was second to none. Dr Leonello briefed me on exactly what to expect and kept me informed through out the lead up to and post op. I had previously had a less than perfect experience on having an op on the same limb (at a different hospital). It is safe to say Dr Leonello and his staff effectively restored my faith in the system. Sportmed and DR Leonello are highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: My second day here at sportsmed hospital. Nothing but positive feedback about my experience. My morning and evening nurses were Kate and Sunny. What can I say. If I required anything they were there to assist. Dr Rob Wallace my Surgeon was the best. What a beautiful soul. Visited me last night and this morning to see how I was going. What a man. Struggling to walk but will make my way home to recover. My night nurse Raj was great. Just finished breakfast and had 43 items to choose from, can't complain. Dinner last night was awesome and tasty and once again a lot of choices. My experience was great

Fantastic experience: I had elbow surgery down Monday, and feeling rather anxious and nervous about it all. From the time I checked in at reception, till the time I was checked out ready to go home those girls were nothing but caring,friendly, kind and courteous. Would I recommend sportsmed, yes absolutely.

Negative experience: Great to see a doctor in the weekend clinic recently, great care and diagnosed problem efficiently. Extremely let down by the breakdown in communication between admin and the medical team. No call back from the surgeons office for days and questioned by the PA if I left a message when I left three messages. As a result I decided to see another surgeon outside of sportsmed and requested a referral. I have called 7 times over a number of days this week and been reassured it would be "sent today" on every call. I waited on hold for 40 minutes for the documents, with no result. Trying to problem solve, I asked if I could have a phone appointment with a different doctor today for the referral, I live in the country and have an injured leg, however I was advised I am unable to do a phone consult as I have to see the same doctor due to medicare. As per telehealth requirements for medicare billing, patients must have had a face to face appointment with the GP or another GP in the same practice in the 12 months before the service. This has been a really disappointing experience.

Fantastic experience: Had shoulder surgery after a bad accident. Dr Alexander, the anaesthetist, physio and nurses did an outstanding job. Followup care was excellent following a reinjury. The facility is like a luxury hotel and the food superb. Can't speak highly enough about my experience.

Negative experience: Physics don't support Medicare care plan system. Gap payments, difficult physics that thi k they know better than your care plan and treat you like a.mental health pt instead of paying customer. Difficult payment system. Ruined my ability to use my 5 visits. Felt they think they are too good for care plan pts.

Fantastic experience: This is my second knee procedure at Sportsmed Stepney. This time it was my right knee. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all staff on the 4th November 2021 for their exceptional service. Like last year, I was welcomed with happy, and caring staff. From the nurse, the physio Vicki Jordan, Doctor Barry and Doctor Greg Keene, were all very thorough and professional. They all made me feel very comfortable throughout my procedure. I will have no hesitation in recommending Sportsmed Stepney to all my family and friends.

Fantastic experience: Omg! So happy and greatfull to the wonderful people who work there Thankyou! I tried to get a GP app, nothing for 3 days so couldnt get a refereal for imaging, which then wouldve taken another 3 days... 6 days in total. I called sports med, i was seen within 2hrs, xrayd and reconsoled... got my answers and treatment all within 3 hrs....NOT 6 DAYS. Highly recommended!!!

Fantastic experience: In 2016 I had my achillies tendon surgically repaired at Sportsmed after a 90% rupture, there were some hiccups at the initial consult stage but the surgeon did a fantastic job, the surgery went really well and the rehab was also on point. To this day I still see the phsyio Nick Delvins for the other sports related injuries I do to myself and I refer others to him who are also satisfied. Overall I highly recommend based on my own experiences.

Fantastic experience: Thank you so much to Gen Angley, she is an incredible physiotherapist at Sportsmed Stepney. After two sessions I already feel I am on the road to recovery for my hamstring injury which I have not been able to shake for 18 months. She has prescribed me fantastic exercises which has rapidly improved my symptoms. Gen has a very friendly personality and I love that she is so reassuring. It’s so nice to see someone who is genuinely happy for their patients when they start seeing improvement. Can’t wait to see you next time Gen! Thank you again.

Fantastic experience: I sustained a football injury that kept me out of sport for close to 3 months. Sportsmed, Dr Jones and Partners, as well as Full Circle Hand Therapy were professional and meticulous throughout the treatment process. I was thoroughly examined, diagnosed, and referred to the hand specialist for treatment. I can not fault any of the numerous doctors and physicians that I saw throughout the rehabilitation process. Thank you Sportsmed!

Fantastic experience: I have had foot and ankle issues for 12+ years now and wanted to get it fixed. After returning to SA I went straight to sports med podiatry and have been really well looked after. With having tried a number of non invasive methods my issues were taken to the foot and ankle clinic and a surgical plan was created. I met with the surgeon who was very knowledgeable and ran through everything and although not being able to make my ankle 100% he said I should have good results and with weighing up the risks surgery was the logical answer. On the day of surgery the staff were amazing from the admissions desk, the nurses and physiotherapist in day surgery and the OR/recovery crew, now time to heal and see what the results will be but that is down to my body!!

Negative experience: My son had an appt on the 29th April with Dr Bolton orthopaedic surgeon and was told to speak with her PA to book in a time for surgery. After several attempts to contact the PA and leaving endless messages, to date haven’t received any follow up phone calls! After my 5th attempt decided to call the orthopaedic reception to express my concern! I was told that the practise manager would be calling me. Again I am still waiting for a phone call. We have had to see another orthopaedic surgeon & now have scheduled a date for a knee reconstruction. I am appalled at the lack of concern, the lack of professional conduct with Sportsmed!

Fantastic experience: Went to see Dr Angela Moran for a consult and was very impressed with her prompt service, she sent me for an X-ray in the same building and saw me as soon as the x-ray was taken. She was very professional, friendly and compassionate about having two young children with me during the appointment. I have never experienced such quick, no fuss treatment at a medical facility before and found that having all the allied health services in one place very helpful. Will tell everyone I know to go there for injury treatments in future!

Negative experience: I made enquires via email regarding PRP for my knee. I was quick to get a reply and an appointment was scheduled in less than 2 weeks. As I live in Mount Gambier getting to the appointment incurred quite an expense. I was happy to do this. The doctor examined my knee and filled out the paperwork for a MRI. Unable to do a PRP due to needing a ultra sound and the radiology department being fully booked, I managed to get this done at Benson Radiology at Ashford Hospital. I as told by the doctor that he would be in contact with me when the MRI results were in. My Physio had the results the following day on the18th February. (1 month ago) I am still waiting for my phone call from Sports Med. I do not find this acceptable. I am now seeking treatment elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I can't speak highly enough for the fantastic nursing staff, chef's, reception staff and most importantly the surgical team. Mr Mathew Hutchinson, Dr Martin and Dr Chelsea. Over the 5 day stay for a hip replacement, the nursing staff treated me with the upmost respect and care, couldn't ask for better. The food I found to be restaurant quality with a fairly extensive menu to choose from, unheard of in hospitals, but I guess this isn't a hospital more like a high end care facility. Dr Chelsea was reassuring and knowledgeable as was Dr Martin, very caring. Mr Mathew Hutchinson is a one in a million Orthopaedic surgeon you'll ever come across. Brilliant mind excellent approachable personality, so lucky to have him do my hip replacement. This would of been a traumatic experience if it wasn't for the great team at Sports med. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: I have just had a knee replacement surgery with Dr Matt Hutchinson whom I highly recommend! From Start to finish my experience at Sportsmed was brilliant, nursing staff beyond caring and friendly, and nothing was ever too much trouble and everyone was so happy in there surroundings!’ The physiotherapists that I saw were of very high standard, caring and efficient. Dr Baghini my anaesthetist was so very caring, amazing and certainly knew how to put me at ease in a very stressful situation! The food and food staff involved I couldn’t fault, nothing was too much trouble, the food was always of a high standard, tasty, nutritious and a fabulous assortment. Sportsmed you certainly exceeded my expectations and I would definitely highly recommend you to anyone and would certainly attend in the future if necessary! My sincere Thankyou

Fantastic experience: I have attened the Orthopedics clinic/hospital since February this year, due to a work injury and all of the staff have treated me professionally and respectfully ......I sought a second opinion and am so very glad I did . Dr Paterson and the team at Sportsmed are awesome .....It is a truly wonderful South Australian Hospital.

Negative experience: To follow up my story with sportsmed. Received a call from Dr Hutchinson's new PA asking to provide my GP's details to send the GP a letter from him. I asked why this was necessary now when no one mentioned I need a GP referral BEFORE I went to see this doctor. I asked why sportsmed told me it was ok to backtrack a referral when the GP said it was illegal. So, a referral from the gp is not required but they need to send him a letter??? I was told 2 weeks ago by DR Hutchinsons old PA that she will look into my situation and give a call as to whether I can get any refund due to the fact that I was not told seeing a GP was necessary. The new PA said there was no note. No one even bothered to call me back. Dr Hutchinson and his physio do not do things transparently at all. A shocking situation, handled terribly, that makes both him and the physio he works with seem like a scam.

Fantastic experience: This is a fantastic place to come for physio, massage, surgery. Loads of very competent physios with a lot of experience. The reception staff are always friendly and go out of their way to help you. They have all the facilities you need for just about any injury or ailment.

Fantastic experience: i have been there a number of times & have spoken / seen various Dr's in various sections and have been seen to in the upmost professionalism, would definitely recommend.. I guess it's like most things not everyone is painted with the same brush..

Negative experience: 0/10. really poor. I write this currently sitting in a public hospital awaiting my 3rd operation to fix a deep infection which occurred within 6 weeks of surgery but was infected and ignored by sportsmed post care. I will need the achilles reconstruction done all over again (but not by sportsmed). My after care was montiored by a non medically trained podiatrist not a wound specialist. When i contacted sportsmed to alert them of my emergency procedure they didnt want to know about it as my surgeon was on annual leave. 5 days in hospital still not as much as an email to check up on my case. Speaking to many people while in hospital im not the first poorly managed surgery from Sportsmed. Stay away!

Fantastic experience: This facility is great.. The nurses that attended me ( only 2 nurses!!!) were kind, caring and extremely professional... their standards were very high & nothing was too much trouble... they explained everything in laymen’s terms and I felt extremely comfortable with them... Tome, in particular was exceptional & kind & caring and made my overnight stay ( she was with me 2 out of 3 shifts).. Also Dr Alexander as well as everyone connected to my surgery made me very comfortable & I would not hesitate to recommend this facility and it’s staff...

Fantastic experience: In January 2018 I was operated on by Dr Greg Keene and had a full knee replacement of my right knee. I spent 5 days in Sportsmed SA hospital at Stepney. The quality of care was outstanding in every respect and I am very pleased that I chose Sportsmed SA for this treatment. The quality of professional care from Dr Keene, backed up by highly experienced physiotherapists and nursing staff was very impressive. The meals also are superb! I am now back home recuperating under a Sportsmed programme and fully satisfied with my experience. If you have to have a knee op - this is the place.

Fantastic experience: Dr Justin Alexander amazing!!!! got a second opinion for my elbow dislocation and chip and so glad I did. It was recommended that a plate and screws needed to be done 2nd opinion from Dr Justin Alexander and almost 6months down the track No plate No screws and almost back to normal. Thanks to Dr Alexander highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Professional medical service, consisting of a number of specialists, including, orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists, podiatrists, medical imaging facility, etc. Specializes in sports related injuries. Consists of a day clinic specialising in day surgeries. It is a one stop facility.

Fantastic experience: I was really happy with my admission, communication, and care while at the surgery overnight. Food was good, high empathy and patience, and good explanation of what was going on.

Fantastic experience: I had surgery to repair my Achilles' tendon. I ruptured my tendon on Tuesday, had an appointment with Dr. Shahram Shahrokhi the next day for surgery on that Thursday. Had followup physiotherapy sessions with Stan Garland who was professional and very helpful and am now well on my way to recovery. Would highly recommend both Dr. Shahroki and Stan for their excellent work.

Positive experience: I had a knee replacement performed by Dr Keene - happy to say apart from being very painful experience, Dr Keene and the hospital staff were fabulous. However, sadly I did have an inappropriate and very traumatic experience with a male physiotherapist. Once I took the matter further and contacted the Sportsmed management, the complaint was dealt with in an effective and satisfactory manner.

Negative experience: Not a fan of the orthopedic surgeon area. Felt like a number. Went back to my doctor to get an open referral and have searched for a different surgeon. Won't be going back.

Fantastic experience: I recently attended the GP clinic at Sportsmed Stepney with a lacerated finger (not a sporting injury) as a walk-in patient with no booking and was seen by a Dr within 15 minutes. I was whisped away for a quick x-ray across the corridor at Dr Jones & Partners and within a few hours, was seen by a hand specialist, admitted into surgery, operated on in theatre and had been discharged. The efficiency of staff and the state of the art facilities at Sportsmed was impeccable and i could not recommend it more highly.

Negative experience: Useless. Booked a therapy session for 4.30 was told therapist was running late. Therapist came out and told me he doesn’t work past 5.30 so I will need to reschedule, do yourself a favour and find a new Phisio there are plenty around that keep there promise on times and provide a quality service. Lift your Game sportsmed.

Negative experience: They delate my appointment with any previous information, I waited 10 days before founding a place with the massage terapist I have a strong problem, but I waited, my fault because they told me that here in blackwood it is not the first time that appened,I take half day off from my job and also they didn't advise me. Totally not professional.

Fantastic experience: I had a hip replacement 4 weeks ago. From the very start with Dr Mark Fisher referring me to Dr Rob Wallace, I have nothing but praise. The fact that all the facilities are in the one place eg X-rays, blood tests, surgeon, hospital, physio helps enormously. The hour long session with the hospital nurse gave me an insight into what I was to expect during, and after the operation. Such a good idea to ask as many questions to alleviate nerves. The hospital staff could not have been more helpful and understanding after the op. They are very professional and friendly and specialise in orthopaedics. The hospital is spotless and the food excellent. The physio visited and helped me enormously in hospital before I was discharged. Dr Rob Wallace is professional, friendly and a gentleman. Thank you Dr Mark Fisher for referring me to the top Surgeon for my hip replacement.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Jones & Partners have lovely staff & excellent facilities. X-Ray etc., Dept is next to the Three Sons coffee shop. This should help locate the building amongst the Sportsmed Environs.

Negative experience: The two girls i delt with at the desk down stairs at the front main clinic were a couple of rude cows, i had a little trouble with my paper work, instead of explaining it to me they mocked and insulted me for it then they went on to laugh at me. Horrible place, i wouldnt recomend any one go here.

Fantastic experience: Best hospital and medical centre in Adelaide. Everything is on the same site. I've had dozens of visits to this place for injury advice, and surgeries. The doctors are professional and skilled - I have full confidence in their work. I highly recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Had first hip replacement 7 years ago by Dr Rob Wallace with wonderful results. Just had other hip done. From the first consult through the op and post op care, everything has gone so smoothly and all staff are so attentive and caring about comfort and pain management. Highly recommended.
