Negative experience: I was very shocked and disappointed to be coldly told by the Practice Manager that you do not take “walk ins” when I brought my son in after a severe back injury. Even when I pointed to one of the signs (right in front of where she was sitting) that says walk ins will incur a fee, I was still told no, we don’t accept walk ins here. We started to walk out to go elsewhere and then she said she will accept it this time but there will be a very long wait, which of course we expected. I have been bringing my kids here for approximately 20 years and am not impressed with the vibe of the place now. While the main drs we see are great, many improvements should be made. I am back here today and the walk in signs regarding incurring a fee are still up. So do you or do you not accept walk ins?

Fantastic experience: Exemplary staff at the SCMC. I have been attending this clinic for over 25 years, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. All staff are dedicated, patient & proficient. They go above and beyond to make sure each individuals needs are met. Dr Bryan Winthrope is dedicated, caring & so methodical, he is always thorough & ever so patient, he is my entire family’s doctor and I am so grateful for his service, kindness & dedication. Positive experience: Receptionist can have long lines but chatting away. It’s also important to protect our privacy so having us giving date of birth and phone numbers in front of others is not creating privacy. If you need to check this you need a reception area that provides security when we give you this information. When a patient expresses concern over giving g this in front of people your receptionists need to respect that and create a way to recover the information so the patient is comfortable and not give them attitude of things how we do it. Even when the patient politely says I’m not comfortable saying this with people around. They never know who has escaped DV and why privacy is import

Fantastic experience: The staff, doctors, nurses and admin staff at the Southern Cross Medical Centre are all exemplary. I desperately needed their help yesterday, on two separate occasions, and they worked together to have me seen. They helped by supporting me and providing me with the urgent medical attention, treatment, and patient care I needed. I was treated like a human being, was well looked after, and was given the information that I needed to help me with my post operative care and healing (spinal surgery). My nurse Mitch was exceptional. Mitch tended to my wound gently and carefully, ensuring that it was clean and redressed to help promote healing. When I returned to the clinic a few hours later in excruciating pain with a post operative UTI, Mitch was leaving work to go home, however, instead of going home, he stayed with me, and assisted me by performing all the tests needed before I saw the doctor. Mitch provided me with the comfort and support I needed when I was scared and in a lot of pain. Mitch embodies everything that is exceptional in “nursing” and “patient care”. Mitch went above and beyond what was expected of him and for that I am truly grateful. Southern Cross Medical Centre is not my regular clinic, however the care I received, the medical attention and information I received from Dr Sandhu was much appreciated and above and beyond what has been given to me at my regular clinic. I highly recommend this clinic, and again thank Mitch for the wonderful and caring person he is.

Fantastic experience: Above and beyond in care

Positive experience: The doctors here are amazing and genuinely care for your health and wellbeing. I can't recommend Dr Sue, Cheryl Lee, and Dr Roth (now retired unfortunately) enough. They are highly skilled and compassionate. Dr Michael Zhang on the other hand is arrogant and doesn't share the same compassion as most doctors at this clinic. I don't recommend him at all and was given passive aggressive responses with no reassurance/willingness to help, and left the clinic on the verge of tears. Save yourself the time and money and see anyone else as most of the doctors here and truly amazing.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to this Clinic since I was 2 years old & i cannot fault it one bit. You’re welcomed by friendly receptionist who take their time in answering your concerns. All the Doctors at this clinic (besides Dr Celeste Nguyen) are amazing Doctors who have provided great care to my family for many years. Our Dr’s are; Dr Christine Won & Dr Paul Sandu. Their professionalism, attention to detail & high level of care to their patients is unbelievable and we always leave feeling content. Dr Christine Won has gone above and beyond for my health needs & has always welcomed me into her consulting room with a smile on her face. Highly recommend Dr. Won

Fantastic experience: Today I had Tara attending to my dressing from a recent knee replacement surgery.She asked me about the hospital I went to and how I found it.I started to get upset as to the way some of the nurses treated you because you couldn’t swallow tablets.She assured me it wasn’t my fault and the nurses should have been more caring.It made me feel better about my self that she was there on that day and cared.She is a beautiful person and feel so lucky I met her.

Fantastic experience: This is a farewell message to Doctor Ron Roth. Dr Roth was my Dad’s doctor. He looked after my dad until Dad’s passing in 2014. Dr Roth was also my doctor for many years. He was the one who gave me the wonderful news that I was pregnant 22 years ago. He then referred me to Dr Sandhu to care for me throughout my pregnancy and who is now our family doctor. Dr Roth is an amazing and caring doctor and am honoured to have had him as my doctor in my early years. We wish you all the very best on your timely retirement and may you take the time out for you and your family to enjoy life.

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been attending this clinic for many years now. Dr Sandhu has been my regular doctor, who has always been able to slot us into his busy days. I appreciate that reception is responsive and respond to my queries in a timely manner. Dr Sandhu is an excellent doctor who takes time to get to know his patients and tailor his care to the needs presented. The building and waiting room is quite dated, as it hasn't changed much in the 20 years I've been attending. However, the services and facilities are still effective. Thank you to both Southern Cross Medical and Dr Sandhu for your outstanding service and compassion.

Very considerate with everyone, have you heard how passionate they are on the phone to people. Dr Sandhu is my regular doctor and well what can i say, i just think he is the Best. I have seen a few of the other Doctors and they are just as good, but you do get used to your own Doctor.

Negative experience: Practice has gone down hill reception extremely rude.

Negative experience: Avoid avoid wast of time forget to check you in all time, book in with incorrect specialist all time and not let you know in advance when a doctor is away. Real same as been going here for over 20 years.

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting service! We have have been visiting this clinic for years and there’s always a staff member providing incorrect information. I took my wife to the clinic because she had the flu and paramedics advised us to do so. Knowing full well that they ask us to stay in our car until we are called, I went to the counter to check us in with the doctor. I was advised to bring my wife in as she can be isolated and kept in a waiting room. When I did so, another staff member refused her entry and asked us to stay outside on a cold day or in the car. When I said that we were doing the right thing and only came in because we were instructed by her colleague, we were simply told “it’s clinic policy and we can’t have you in the waiting room”. Not a single piece of acknowledgment of error or apology from either staff member. Please educate your staff so they provide consistent information to patients.

Fantastic experience: Staff are amazing, they have sense of urgency when we need them and takes good care of patients. Doctors are informative, polite and compassionate.

Fantastic experience: Southern Cross Medical Centre has professional, compassionate and caring Doctors, nurses and receptionist. It was 7 yrs ago when I discovered this gem; houseful of wonderful doctors, & staff, their services are exemplary. In particular Dr Su, who has been my go to Gp. She treats patients with utmost care, diligent in follow up progress and direct delivery of feedback good or bad. Dr Su and other doctors who I had consultations previously in the clinic were always respectful, treated you as a person rather than a number. All of them truly embodies "human care". I highly recommend Southern Cross Medical Centre, Dr Su, and all the Doctors.

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been attending SCMC for 20 years, since our kids where little. We have always seen Dr Paul Sandhu and if he is unavailable, Dr Celeste Nguyen. We have always been very happy with Dr Sandhu, he always listen to your concerns and is quick to act if there are any issues. My children now bring their children to see Dr Sandhu. Heres hoping he never retires..

Fantastic experience: My partner and I have been visiting this clinic for many years and I am very happy with doctor and nurses care. As a patient who experience two transpants in the past I use to be very sick and visiting cliniq some period on daily basis. In this occasion I want to mention my experience from week ago in Southern Cross. That day I feel unwell and didn't have chance to get appoitmnet, So I dicade to walk in and wait. I was very scared because I used to see just my doctor as he was only I really trust. Not long after my arriving I get chance to meet DR. A.Sharma and there was suprise for me . He spend certain amount of time asking me question, lisening. He check everything in a details, made call to my specialist in Alfred hospital to consult. I feel I am in safe hands. He know what he is doing. I want to thank to Dr Sharma and SCMC for look after me.

Negative experience: Booked with a Dr Mariam at 5:10pm on the 16th of September, waited for 45 mins to be called into my appointment. I understand she had clients in before me but they hand already been billed out by front desk at 5:30pm. We would usually wait 5-10 mins for the doctor to regroup and call out for their next appointment so I waited. 15 minutes passed and a young boy and older man walked in, right past reception and had gone straight to Dr Mariam’s room. I had already asked the receptionist if Dr Mariam was aware I have arrived for my appointment. She confirmed yet, this Dr Mariam seemed to enjoy her guests company, rather than to see her patient. I decided to just leave and go elsewhere to be treated. So unprofessional and very disappointing. Useless service and the front desk girls aren’t too pleasant either.

Fantastic experience: It’s my first time visiting this clinic and the service was excellent. Dr. Sheryl was so accommodating and patient to my 4 y.o daughter. She really knows how to handle small kids. I find her also very knowledgeable and sincere on what she’s doing.

Negative experience: My family and I have been visiting this clinic for many years and love our family doctor Cheryl Skadiang. However today I booked a tele appointment in order to get a doctor's certificate for the last couple of days. As I have been experiencing cold and flu symptoms (although testing negative to Covid) I tried to do the right thing in booking a tele appointment, especially seeing as though the only reason I need the appointment is for a doctor's certificate. I was told that that I was ineligible for a tele appointment as I have not been there in the last 12 months? What an absolute joke!!!!! After complaining, they then offered me a tele appointment but said I would have to pay full price and would not get any Medicare benefit? For a Friggen doctor's certificate I love my family doctor but unfortunately I will no longer be seeing her as I refuse to pay to use a clinic that obviously does not care 1 bit about patient care, just money!!! And to the receptionist who took my call, next time someone has a complaint, try letting the person speak instead of talking over them, rudest person I've met.

Positive experience: I have been here for the past 10 years, never had any problems mostly, I'm really happy with my doctor, recently had a breath test, blood test for my stomach and told that it will take 3 days by the Dorevitch then also got told by another staff there that it will take 5 days so I wasn't sure and had to check with the medical centre receptionist they told me to call them on Monday afternoon, my actual appointment was on Tuesday morning at 8am 27/07/2021, I called then on Monday to check if my results came, the receptionist managed to check and told me that all the results came thru so I confirmed my appointment next day, on my appointment I came and see my doctors, unfortunately my doctor told me that I only got the blood rest results but still waiting for the breath test, which frustrated me alot, had to waste my time to come and there is no results which I wasn't expecting it. The receptionist is abit slow with their response. Next time it would be really great if the staff act more professional to double check everything before they confirm and be more quick. Thanks

Positive experience: Clean and tidy

Negative experience: They used to be really good but I tried calling them to make an appointment with any doctor for an Implanon removal for anytime this week and was told to call back tomorrow as the receptionist could not tell me if they had any appointments available for any doctors. My partner also went there and received terrible care, he was told he didn't need to pay so he left, only for them to call him later that day demanding payment.

I started bringing my son here when he was about 4 months after a bad experience at my doctor and have since started coming back myself, and converted 3 other people with me to go here. Staff are lovely, doctors are helpful and compassionate, nurses are gentle and kind. What more could you ask for at the place you go when you’re not well than to be cared for? And that’s exactly what happens here

Fantastic experience: My family have been going to southern cross for years.gladly transfer from disappointment first health clinic.my older son diagnosed with autism and my young son have his INR test every months with the nurses.they gave us service with the smile and always kind and happy.most Dr are very professional with their caring attitude in consultation.we would strongly recommended this hard working clinic. Fantastic experience: The current reviews on Google for this doctor clinic is absolutely not reflective of the service they provide. Yes you have to pay a slight out of pocket amount however it is absolutely worth it. They are by far the best doctors I have personally used. I highly recommend this clinic

Negative experience: Such a rip off i went to see doctor for simple flu they charged me $55 even though I had health care card and Medicare card. They never told us it will cost or the do bulk bill at time of signing up with them...never going there again Does anyone know where we can lodge formal complain about them ???

Negative experience: I was struck down with a virus on Saturday night came into this surgery on a Sunday, and was told it's not tonsillitis yet so make an appointment tomorrow, I came down the next day and was told the same thing, but had also contracted something off one of my daughter's, I was told to use a specific ointment...I went to purchase this ointment at the pharmacy and they informed me it was a prescription ointment. Not the first bad experience but will be the last I have tried the surgery near woolies and it's far superior, there's even toys for the little ones and every one is lovely

Negative experience: Saturday(20/7/19) morning receptionist at the desk was very rude. Expected patient to know everything! She has and attitude for customer service ! Better off not working with ppl. Not bit friendly at all, even though u get paid . May be lazy .

Negative experience: I was extremely disappointed today arriving 10min before my scheduled appointment, going up to the recipiention deck to let them know I'd arrived to then wait another 30min before I went up to reception again to see how much longer it would be. Another receptionist told me you haven't registered your arrival. Total incompetents, wasted time sitting waiting for nothing!! The dr was there with the door open that's what made me question the time wait, so frustrating!!!

Negative experience: Was my 3rd time visiting this clinic today and will definitely Be my last. Rude receptionist and very unhelpful and unprofessional dr. I would rather not name and shame the dr I saw but let me say that she was extremely unhelpful, lacked compassion and told me she only had time to look at one of my issues due to lack of time. She also recommended I return to my previous gp and that’s the most helpful thing she said during our consultation. Wish I could rate 0 stars just like the 0 help I got there!

Negative experience: Everytime I’ve come in with my child I’ve had to wait almost an hour after the scheduled appointment to finally actually be seen

Positive experience: Everytime I phone for an appointment I am put on hold. Its very hard when you are at work and have to hold on. Also how about a smile from the girls behind the counter.

Fantastic experience: I think this is a wonderful practice. The staff are professional and friendly. If my doctor is unavailable I choose from 3 or 4 others that I also respect and trust. The centre shows signs of continual improvement. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: I've been to many doctors before I found Southern Cross Medical, and Dr Celeste Nguyen. No query is too big or too small, and she always explains everything in laymans terms. She's always kind and compassionate, and even when I move out of the area I will be returning to the practice. Couldn't recommend more highly.

Negative experience: I had a sick child who wanted to throw up so I ran into the clinic and asked if I could have a sick bag the receptionist didn’t give me one because she wasn’t a patient there seriously just a sick bag

Negative experience: Most of the doctors here are unprofessional and liars Doctor Su in particular. The Practice Manager is an essence of a liar and is ignorant to the law. The receptionists unprofessional. And the head doctor Mr Sandhu is a doctor that only cares about his pocket not the patient’s health and recovery of the patient. I Will be reporting them to the medical board and the Minister of health to lodge a formal investigation by law into this clinic’s practice.

Negative experience: Saw Dr Nguyen, explained of my issue, she advised that Dr's can't refer for MRI's anymore, only specialists can, so she referred me to a specialist. I had a blood test, and wanted it explained to me, she then advised that I would need to discuss this with the specialist. After 6 weeks, I finally got an appointment with the specialist she referred me too. As it turns out she referred me to the WRONG specialist, I rang to complaint and the rudest woman at the reception desk told me to 'call back later' to complain...Just avoid this clinic, they may be quick but I'll never return.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this Medical Centre for around 20 years now and always satisfied.

Negative experience: Took my son here 5 days after he had his tonsils removed. DR BRIAN THE LOVELY NEW ONE (So the receptionist said) Insisted my son was recovering very well even though his throat was inflamed with pus, he couldn’t take any fluids or food cause of the agony. Took my son to a different gp the next day as he was the same. Was told straight away he has a infection & needs antibiotics as well as stronger pain meds. This practice is just worried about money not anyone’s health. Would never recommend this place to anyone. You people don’t even deserve 1 star & for the receptionist won’t hurt to smile & be polite.

Fantastic experience: My husband I have attended this clinic for over 20 years. The place is always busy and the staff do very well concidering the pressure they are under at times. If we don't get to see our normal Doctor, the others we've been to have always been good. No complaints at all from us.

Negative experience: I went to this clinic on Tuesday morning which pain in my stomach I was almost dying because I never had this pain before I was on the floor because of pain the receptionist who was the old lady saw me oy pain i was almost on the floor she put the form on the desk and told me come and fill the form I told her you see my situation can you bring the form for me and she came really slowly and she didn't care about me she even didn't tell anyone to come and see me while I was filling the form and I was in so much pain I asked her to call doctor while she's doing the paperwork but she didn't care she was so slow and ignoring me it was a ridiculous experience I have ever had never recommend anyone to go to that clinic i wish i could give them zero star ! They dont deserve 1 star even !!!!

Negative experience: Why didn't I look on the reviews before I have booked my appointment? I called them on 19th of April to book an appointment and they said that tomorrow we can have an appointment with Dr. Sless at 10.30 but told us to come 10 minutes early as I was new patient in this medical centre. I took few hours off from work and went there on 20th April and when we had chat with the receptionist about the appointment, they said that we don’t have any appointment. What else do you except? Anyhow now we have booked one more appointment, now see how the doctors like.

Fantastic experience: I've been going here for 10+ years and all the doctors and staff have always been great. Even when my favourite doctor (Dr. Celeste Nguyen) isn't available, I've always been met with respect and friendliness. The receptionists are not snarky like at other places and they always help, even if it's out of their job description, for example, chasing things up for patients even if the patient is meant to do it. The nurses are great too. One of them approached me and gave me information on my crutch which was not correctly adjusted, and after my appointment helped me to fix it up. Overall a great and very hygienic place with nice staff. Definitely a diamond in the rough of Hampton Park.

Negative experience: Bunch of bullies especially nurse and receptionists are not there to help they are treating you like child, they d snap at you and d tell you off without understanding the issue. Not worth going even for bulk billing.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have been clients of this practice since 1979 and under the supervision of Dr Tim Voon fir the last 15 years. We cannot speak highly enough of this practice. Staff are friendly and helpful and Dr Tim Voon goes above and beyond the call of duty and ALWAYS as his patients best interest and welfare at heart. We have since moved interstate and miss our doctor greatly

Positive experience: The staff are always polite and prompt, and the medical care is second to none. Particularly recommended is Dr Roth, with his calm and personable nature he handles delicate and personal matters professionally and with dignity. Always a pleasure to visit.

Negative experience: Although this practice advertises that it bulk bills pensioners it refuses to put an item number against the compulsory drivers licence medical for aged patients thus denying these people the ability to claim a legitimate rebate from medicare. They also charge much more than a normal consultation for this service. Go to another practice where there is respect of old patients legal rights
