Corrimal Healthcare Centre: Reviews
Negative experience: Will not return to this health care centre unless dr milchreest returns most of the other doctors are useless adappa has to be the worst doctor I've ever experienced in my life and judging by many of the other reviews most people agree
Hi Green fingers, if you have any complaints, please address it to the Practice Manager, Vika. Unless we know the details we are unable to offer you much help or investigate the matter. It doesn’t help us to improve our services, if we are not given an opportunity to investigate the matter.
Negative experience: Has a sign claiming bulk billing however in the traditional understanding of bulk billing this sign is to be considered fraudulent. Booked appointment online and was not told about a fee, demanded $65 to see a doctor.
Dear Wolf
All online appointments are booked through Hotdoc and the fee is learly mentioned on the booking website and the booking app. Hence, there were no hidden costs. If you make a booking through the reception, the fee is mentioned at the time of booking. Hence, your claim that the fee was not mentioned to you is not correct. Furthermore the fee and charges are mentioned at the time of registration when you arrive before you see the doctor. All pension card holders and children under the age of 16 are bulk billed. If you have a pension card or a health care concession card and believe that you have been billed incorrectly, please bring it to the attention of the practice manager.
Negative experience: Took my 15 year old son here and was charged a fee I told reception he is under 16 and she argued that's I still had to pay!
Hi, children who have not yet reached their 16th birthday are bulk billed. Please could you address your complaint to the practice in writing to the practice manager. Or email your details to [email protected] if your child is under 16 years of age, we will process a refund within 24 hrs. Sorry for any inconvenience or misunderstanding.
Negative experience: Invalidated and not taken seriously. Had to beg just to get a blood test.
Dear Amber
It is not possible to discuss your specific details on a public platform. Each person's case is different. Sometimes the test you requested may not be appropriate for you and the doctor may suggest an alternative option. We are sorry if you felt invalidated. If you have any concerns about a particular doctor, please could you bring it to the attention of the practice manager and we will endeavour to resolve the issue with that doctor. Once again, thank you for your patience.
Negative experience: Never again there honest those words too..New to the area i moved to Woonona im not allowed to drive so i only really go to Corrimal so i googled the first doctors i seen was this one and i turned up little early making sure because don’t really know the area that good yet so never know could of took the wrong street or bus could of been late but anyway got there filled out the paperwork and i waited a long time over 1hr 40mins why waste your time and make a appointment iv never had that happen before doctor little late but not that late i almost fell asleep in the place only reason i didn’t was the type chairs stopped me omg i thought the in out doctors were bad up in Sydney this place out does them big time.. I was asked to fill out paperwork to get my details down here but i didn’t because i know i won’t be going back there ever again so they didn’t need them im going to travel 2.5hrs to go see my last doctor in Sydney again..Because i knew there was something i really really needed to get from a female doctor i was asked dates over dates i could only give approximate dates i didn’t know so il go up there get a fair idea and get everything passed down to a doctor if i find one worth going back too. But they need to change the appointment schedule out stop over booking so won’t be that late or just have walk ins no appointments people at the front desk you can ask if a certain doctor is working and you can say you preferred them and wait to see them when they’re free.. What a shame i thought being a bulk bill it would be very professional but it wasn’t and also looked good inside but it wasn’t..☹️ And after all that not being happy i had to pay an be out of pocket for an average Gp not a specialist.. Ps they don’t like it when where late or a no show
Hi Pamela we are really sorry that you had a negative experience. We would really like to talk things over to see what happened and what was the cause for the delay. Usually if one doctor is held back, we ask the reception to swap the patient over to another doctor, with the patient's permission. It looks like we failed to do our bit on this occasion. If you could send us the date and time of the consultation with your full name, and the doctor you were expecting to see, we will look into it, and ensure this does not happen to any other patient.
Fantastic experience: Dr Yasodha is an amazing doctor. Appreciate her skills and support . Excellent skills
Fantastic experience: Great Doctors, nice reception staff. Bulk billing, which is hand. Usually you don't need to wait too long as they always have lot's of GP's working.
Hi Jayne, thank you so much for your positive feedback. We really appreciate it.
Negative experience: My experience is always terrible here since Dr Hargovan left. The doctors are often more than one hour late. They do not show any care at all. They are just there to get you in and out. Go elsewhere. This place is absolutely terrible.
Hi Jonathan, thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately we are one of the few practices who continue to bulk bill pensioners and concession card holders; and we also have the least gap fee. Most people attending this practice are from a low socioeconomic background and have complex needs. If we spend a lot of time on patients with complex needs, it does mean that we sometimes fall behind. It's not possible for us to compromise patient care for the sake of other patients who are not willing to wait for their turn.
Negative experience: I have a love/ hate relationship with this surgery. Don't come here wanting anything except medical treatment and they'll make sure to charge you. I can afford it but the way they ended bulk billing was extremely irritating. A doctor is supposed to support the patient but it seems that they are more interested in covering themselves than giving medical certificates. For a worker this is extremely unhelpful. I'm looking around at other surgeries.
Fantastic experience: The professionals & staff at the medical centre are very friendly, helpful, and thorough. I had a pleasant and great experience and I would definitely recommend it to my family and friends.
Thank you for your review Sophie!
Fantastic experience: Like my doctors. They are thorough helpful and curtious.
Hi Patrick, thank you for your feedback. It means a lot to us. Much appreciated
Positive experience: A lovely practice. Reception staff are friendly. I found Dr. Anjum Shaikh to be professional, knowledgeable and keen to find the best solutions for me. As an out of towner visiting Corrimal, I was pleasantly surprised by this service and so recommend them.
Hi Kate, thank you so much for your kind words. It is really appreciated.
Fantastic experience: Quick to be seen. Front office staff are friendly. Dr Nwali is always there to help me. I have been seeing him for years and trust him in what he does. Thanks doc.
Negative experience: If I could give less than 1 star, I would! Dr Nwali isn't interested in actually investigating issues, just getting you in there to be able to charge his fee. I went to him on a weekend in desperation with issues breathing and coughing and was told everything was clear and there was nothing wrong. After going to my normal GP during the week and getting a swab done, I was put in strong antibiotics to clear a throat infection. Honestly appalling that he treated me like a hypochondriac and had no interest in actually doing his job. Will never go back, even in desperation
Hi Tara, we are sorry to hear that we could not provide you with what you expected from your consultation. Sometimes, the best outcome from a consultation is the advice given to you by the doctor on the day of presentation. Conditions can change and your management as a consequence.A doctor may not always prescribe you with antibiotics (although the Dr you mentioned prescribed you with one on the day) if it is not in your best interests or if it is a viral infection. It is not possible to discuss the specifics of your consultation on a public platform due to privacy reasons. Please address your concerns to the practice manager, and we will aim to have this resolved as soon as possible. Our doctors Bulk Bill all concession card holders and children under 16. Our out-of-pocket cost for private consultation is only $23.60.
Fantastic experience: Have been coming here for years now. Dr Nwali has been with me through thick & thin & has always gone above & beyond. The ladies at check in are always helpful & make life easy for me where they can.
Thank you, Garry, for your positive review. This encourages the team to continue to work assiduously to the benefit of our patients. You may wish to know that your positive view about the practice is a reflection of our recent patient feedback survey where the practice was scored very good to excellent in all domains assessed by the participants in the survey. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Dr Shaikh is great always happy and helpful. Front desk are always welcoming and understanding. Waiting room is always clean and tidy.
Hi Angelina. Thank you so much
Fantastic experience: The ladies at the front desk are lovely and dr Shaike is a great Doctor.
Hi April, thank you for your review. Really appreciate it
Positive experience: Friendly staff and doctors
Hi Claire, thanks for leaving a positive review for us. Really appreciate it
Negative experience: I went to see Dr Adappa today and I’ve never before been treated so terribly by a Doctor. After leaving in tears and shock I soon realised why there was hardly any other patients there. This Doctor should not be practicing, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.. unless you want to be dealing with mental health issues due to your visit.
Hi Renae, we are sorry you had a negative experience while visiting our medical centre. If you are unhappy seeing a particular doctor, please could you reschedule an appointment with another doctor. We have doctors who have different areas of expertise, besides providing general health advice. It may be that the services of another doctor may be more appropriate for your needs. Our medical centre appears less busy in the afternoon as the doctors are mostly attending to telephone consultations during that time. It also means that the doctors are running on time with very few people waiting in the waiting area. Once again we would like to apologise for your unpleasant experience.
Fantastic experience: The best Medical Centre I have ever been to in my life. I have been coming to Corrimal Healthcare Centre for many years. The doctors and staff are very accommodating and professional. I always feel welcomed and the place is very modern and clean. My family comes here also and we see Dr Anjum Shaikh he is wonderful and always looks after us. The nurses are very professional and there’s many facilities here. There is bulk billing for people with a health care card and a very low gap fee of $25 for those who are working. I never wait long to be seen either. I highly recommend Corrimal Healthcare Centre. Always so much parking here too! The medical centre is located within the Priceline store. I am so happy with this place.
Hi Jeff, thank you so much for leaving such a nice review for us. Always looking forward to serving you better.
Fantastic experience: Have been seeing Dr Shaikh for over a decade and found him to have an impeccable bedside manner and he is a very competent Dr in managing my Cardiac and Diabetes conditions. He has extensive experience both in UK and Australia.
Dear Sherwin, thank you for your feedback. We really appreciate it
Negative experience: The move away from bulk billing in a working class neighbourhood, show how the managers and Doctors of this Medical Centre put extra profit in front of people's health.
Hi Lango,
The medicare rebate is the patient rebate. It no longer covers the costs of running a medical practice due to years of government neglect. Please take up your complaint with your Federal Government member.
Kind Regards
Fantastic experience: I'm amazed at all the health care 'experts' who visit this practice. Just because a doctor tells you how it is without sugar coating it doesn't make them rude, in fact I prefer straight taking doctors. I have had consultations with all of the doctors over the years and can truthfully say I have not had one bad word to say about them. The Medicare and Bulk Billing changes are a fact of life and is happening all across Australia, don't shoot the messengers. The Receptionist informed me of the new changes BEFORE my consultation so there was no surprises there. The 'avoid at all costs' comments are rude, ignorant and unfortunately all too common from people who are keyboard warriors. My advice, ignore those who didn't get their own way ( they know more about illnesses than the doctors right?) and make your own minds up. Those of us who use Google a lot can spot vexatious reviews a mile off.
Hi Patrick, thank you for taking the time for leaving us a positive review. It means a lot to us.
Negative experience: Don’t bulk bill on a Saturday and extra charges for new patients. Is that even legal as a medical practice?
Hi Keiren,
It is no longer practical to bulk-bill on weekends given the government has barely increased Medicare rebates for the past ten years, while all other costs have continued to increase. A new patient has a long consultation as your history and illnesses need to be discussed and documented. We are upfront with our charges, rather than surprising you at the end of a consultation. If you feel strongly about bulk-billing I suggest you take up your complaint with the local federal government member.
Kind Regards
Negative experience: Ridiculous wait times and cant see patients without a PCR when they dont have cold or flu symptoms.
Dear Stephanie, sorry for the inconvenience. You no longer need to have a PCR test. You no longer need to wear a mask. If you have cold and flu symptoms, we do request you wear a mask and be escorted to the isolation room. A lot of our patients are sick and vulnerable, and we would like to minimise the risk of any cross infection. Thank you for your understanding.
Negative experience: Waited for 40 minutes for someone to answer phone in the end I gave up
Hi Colin,
All appointments can be made through our website:
https://www.corrimalhealthcarecentre.com.au/
Kind Regards
Negative experience: Dr Adappa is the most rude person my family have ever met. My family member went and saw her today and called me afterwards nearly in tears over the treatment she received. DO NOT GO HERE! Avoid at all costs, I would rather wait for a long time somewhere else then even bother coming here.
Dear Candice, we would like to apologise for the negative experience of your family member.
Negative experience: Dr Adappa is the rudest, most condescending person I've come across in my life, wouldn't see her again if my life depended on it. Dr Nwali on the other hand is always polite and excellent with kids.
Fantastic experience: My partner Steve initially saw a female Dr at this practice - we felt she was distracted and did not have her mind on her work. We have since seen Dr Innocent Nwali on a number of occasions now - he has been very professional and attentive- Steve is very happy to have Dr Nwali as his GP
Dear Frances, Thank you for your feedback and 5-star review. Kind Regards
Negative experience: Dr Adappa is rude! She doesn’t let you finish your sentence before diagnosing you. When you can finally get a word in she cuts you off and diagnoses you with something else..
Fantastic experience: Really looked after me. Had to have daily dressings on a leg ulcer, courteous and really professional care,
Thank you for your review Kelvin - We think it's worth more than 1 star!
Negative experience: My mother saw a Dr at this practice… The Dr she had to see was absolutely horrible to her , left her in a state of agony, was argumentative and was yelling… honestly She is a horrible excuse for a dr / woman … I don’t know why this practice lets her work there She is a law suit waiting to happen.
Fantastic experience: To be honest I am really confused by the reviews that I am reading. Dr Nwali is the best doctor within the Illawarra. We have been seeing him for over 5 years and here is why. After moving to the Illawarra we still used our family doctor who mis diagnosed our son. A second opinion with Dr Nwali a local doctor saw him improve and we did not look back. Dr Nwali has been phenomenal and so have the staff who continually support him. We have also dealt with other doctors if Dr Nwali was unavailable with no issue at all. Thank you to the staff of this practice, our family can not thank you enough !
Thank you Tracey for your kind words, it is greatly appreciated.
Negative experience: Dr Adappa should not be practicing. Her incompetence is only outdone by her arrogance. Didn't listen, wrote off my pain (worked with cracked ribs so can handle a bit), wouldn't give me a medical certificate despite calling for more xrays & an appointment with a neuro-surgeon & having seen her the mth previously - which did absolutely no good at all. In fact blamed me for continuing with the previous medication she ptescribed. Avoid at all costs!!!
Negative experience: Have noticed a sharp decline in the level of care and service by staff and doctors with prime examples of waiting a week and still waiting for an X-ray result I had for a suspected fractured ankle and booking appointments reporting in on arrival only to find out by asking no one has bothered letting the doctor know I’d arrived or in the case of my resent flu shot not even letting the nurse know I was even booked in and was waiting.
Hi Dave,
Patients are advised to make return appointments for all radiology and pathology results. As for waiting times, we continue to do our best to keep waiting times to a minimum, however in the current climate that is extremely difficult, so we appreciate the patience that is being shown by all of our patients.
Kind Regards
Negative experience: Worst medical centre around
Negative experience: Very unprofessional service ! I was recently confirmed with covid and completed my 7 days quarantine. I set up a Telehealth appointment with Dr Adapa and told her I was recently infected with covid 19 and I wanted to apply for a 4 month infection certificate she refused and demanded I get vaccinated. I told her this was my choice and that I did not feel comfortable with it. She refused to even listen to me and hung up the phone.. Very unprofessional!! I would like an explanation as to why she refused to confirm that I had covid 19 so I could apply for this exemption I am entitled to ? I would also advise your to doctors keep up with the ATAGI guidelines...
Dear Leonel,
Our doctors will not provide vaccination exemption forms for any patient. Vaccination is strongly recommended 6-8 weeks post infection, as per ATAGI guidelines.
Kind Regards
Negative experience: My 90 year old attended this joke of a medical centre today with an open and sizeable wound. He was criticised and humiliated by the attending doctor for going there on a Sunday and she roughly cleaned his wound. When we dropped him home he cried. 2.2 raring.....very clear why
Negative experience: Gp I attend is not on their online booking app,and when you try to call them it's worse than centerlink help line
Dear Jasmina,
For appointments with Dr Adappa these cannot be made online. Appointments can be made in person or over the phone. Our receptionists answer calls as quickly and efficiently as possible however with a higher volume of calls due to COVID-19 vaccination wait times can be slightly longer. Thank you for your patience and understanding and we are sorry for any inconvenience.
Kind Regards
Negative experience: Expect to wait up to an hour for reception to answer the phone, just to chase up blood test results.
Hi Sally,
There are times when our phones do get very busy. However you can always book an appointment online through our website...including a telehealth consult to discuss results.
Kind Regards
Negative experience: Took an hour to get a 10 second booster shot. Big waste of time
Good Evening Jon,
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused today and try to see patients as quickly as possible for vaccination. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Kind Regards
Negative experience: After days of trying to book into many medical practices with no luck (due to Christmas period) I finally got an appointment at Corrimal Health with Doctor Nwali. After being bed ridden with a bad case of gastro,I finally got the energy to attend. I began telling Doctor Nwali about my illness, Past and present symptoms and without looking at me, he cut straight to “do you need a medical certificate” and my reply was “yes” as It was essential for my work to get a supporting Certificate. Doctor Nwali told me there was “no evidence I was sick over the past few days” and refused to give me a medical certificate (without even looking at me). I pleaded and tried reasoning with doctor Nwali, though he wouldn’t budge. After the worst sickness I’ve experienced, this isn’t what you want to hear and is extremely insulting and careless. I then went to an appointment with another doctor where I was given a full check over, medication and supporting certificate for the 3 day period (standard) Stay away, worst medical experience I’ve had. There is a reason the waiting room is empty.
Dear Dean, A doctor is legally unable to back date a medical certificate. You need to attend or speak to the doctor on the day that you are sick. Kind Regards
Positive experience: Busy place always courteous the doctor i see is always thorough and helpful
Dear Mick, Thank you for your review and feedback. Kind Regards
Fantastic experience: To be honest, I was a bit worried when i saw the reviews but I honestly thought the place was good. Went here for my 1st shot of the vaccine, staff was polite, and my appointment was called early, so I wasn’t waiting for long at all. In and out very quick.
Dear Marika, Thank you for your feedback and 5-star review. Kind Regards
Negative experience: Worst doctors so rude unprofessional and no idea how to treat ppl
Negative experience: The German cockroaches in the waiting room are the best part.
Negative experience: I booked an appointment this morning on Hotdoc to see a doctor. On arrival at the clinic was told this was a telehealth appointment. really angry as no where did it say that this was a telehealth appointment. my complaint requires doctor investigation. Can you please amend your booking sysytem Hotdoc to say if it is telehealth or not. I could have found another doctor somewhere else today instead of waiting until 4pm.
Dear Rod, we would like to apologise for any misunderstanding. The reception has since been informed that if the patient is present at the practice, then the patient will be seen, irrespective of whether they have a telephone appointment or face to face appointment. The purpose of appointment is to try and reduce wait times, and not to inconvenience our patients.
Negative experience: Absolutely unprofessional male vaccination nurse. Literally leaned over me to ask me my age then shamed me for getting the AstraZeneca. “Why are you getting this vaccine? You’re not 84? You could die from this.” Completely unprofessional to try and turn people away for their own stupid personal reasons, information shouldn’t be given in a way to make the patient scared. Left feeling humiliated and intimidated, like I was doing the wrong thing when I wasn’t. Avoid this place for your vaccination.
Good Evening, All patients under the age of 60 are seen by a GP prior to being vaccinated with AstraZeneca. Further details can be found via https://www.corrimalhealthcarecentre.com.au/covid-19-vaccinations/ Kind Regards, Corrimal Healthcare Centre
Negative experience: Submitted a complaint to the Health Care Complaints Commission. Turning away eligible vaccine recipients due to not meeting their own criteria. Unacceptable. Eligible via health.gov.au (federal gov) and confirmed by the national coronavirus helpline. This is a resubmitted review to include additional information. Original review has been deleted to avoid duplication.
Dear Deanne, We are disappointed to read your review. Our website has all relevant information and a link to the vaccine eligibility checker https://www.corrimalhealthcarecentre.com.au/covid-19-vaccinations/
Kind Regards, Corrimal Healthcare Centre
Negative experience: Asked to be prescribed champix to quit smoking, doctor told me that it costs too much money (the government? Or the patient? It's a hell of a lot cheaper than smoking) and people just go back to smoking anyway. Way to help someone quit smoking guys, A+ Edit: the fact they only respond to the glowi g reviews instead of trying to solve the problems with the crazy reviews shows where their priorities lie
Hi Baruthulous, We would happily call you to discuss your issue, but as you have posted under a pseudonym this is not possible. Kind Regards
Negative experience: This is the most unprofessional incomplete surgery!
Fantastic experience: I’ first met Dr Hargovan in 2012 and before she retired! I’ had an excellent experience with Dr Ankum as-well; Hargovan was very supportive with me & never had an issue. If people were more tolerant and respectful towards other cultures & more multicultural (maybe she would be nicer & more tolerant towards her! But I think the comments towards her are somewhat different from the truth! 5 stars to Dr Ankum and Hargovan!
Thank you for your review Christopher! Kind Regards
Fantastic experience: I was a little worried after reading all the reviews. I hadn't been back to this medical pratice since my doctor left 3 years ago. I could not fault them at all. I was nicely greeted by the receptionist. I did not wait long. I only wanted a second opinion about my scan that I had done elsewhere. The doctor explained the results and showed she cared.
Thank you for your review Rosa!
Fantastic experience: Never had a problem alway squeezed me in.
Thank you for your review!
Fantastic experience: Great honest service IMO all the complaints I noticed seem to be people who didn't want honest medical advice The all sounded as if they had already made up their own diagnoses and when the Dr's had differing opinions, the Dr's were judged as being rude
Thank you for your review!
Negative experience: This place is quite awful. And not just in a "i had to wait for my appointment >:(" way. The receptionists treated me like garbage, and the doctor grilled me so hard about my referral to a private hospital as if I was another health professional and had all the answers. She was rude and snarky and reprimanded me for losing my scripts for my medication. I am not exaggerating in the slightest when I say that this is the worst healthcare centre I've ever been to, and that I felt significantly more mentally ill after leaving the practice. If you can, avoid this place.
Negative experience: Absolutely terrible experience. Do yourself a favour and do not go here.
Negative experience: Worst GP's I have ever encountered. Firstly they don't listen to what you're saying after asking questions and then accuse you of describing symptoms you definitely didn't. Secondly a GP should never, ever get wound up or overly emotional during a simple examination. It's sooooo unprofessional. I will never return to this medical centre Not even if my life depended on it. Hands down the worst medical experience in my life.
Negative experience: Had no time to look up my medical history first she diagnosed this and then a other thing no words
Negative experience: I too, wish I could give this so called “healthcare centre” a zero. From the rude receptionist who can’t even give eye contact when you arrive, the ridiculously long waiting time past your booked appointment and then to finally get in to see a doctor... you don’t get basic medical treatment. In the last year I went there for numerous reasons and saw many doctors and none of them helped me in any way, I often left in tears. Finally I have found a professional doctor elsewhere and cannot believe the difference. No one should enter this place, even for the simplest of reasons. It should be shut down, and yes that doctor Hargoven in particular is the worst of all of them, she is so rude and I seriously question how she passed a medical degree.
Negative experience: 1pm appointment, waited 1.5hrs while the whole room, that arrived after me got in first. Seriously what's the point of an appointment. Better off just rocking up when you feel like it or go somewhere else.......
Negative experience: Worst experience ever!! Have never met such a rude unprofessional doctor as Dr Hargovan.
Negative experience: Disgusting old lady doctor who refused to listen to symptoms and claimed it was all made up. NEEDS HER LICENSE REVOKED IMMEDIATELY
Negative experience: Yeah repeated misdiagnosis, never again. Went in with hip pain and was told to get my ribs x-rayed, turns out I had a massive blood clot in my hip that went totally unnoticed because the doctor just refused to listen. Please for the love of god stay away.
Negative experience: Rude and acted as if I was faking my symptoms. Left there feeling slapped in the face and belittled. She didnt even say good bye. Horrible woman
Negative experience: If I could give this practice zero stars I would! This place is an absolute disgrace! The Dr I saw acted as though I was faking my symptoms and actually asked me why I'd not gone to see my "regular Dr" for the issue I had (I informed her that my "regular Dr" was booked out and I wanted to come in and see a Dr before the weekend to make sure I was ok!). I waited an hr for past my scheduled appointment for nothing as she gave me no information other than to go get a blood test and that was it. Would definitely suggest avoiding this terrible practice!
Negative experience: My family had been seeing Dr Hargovan for a number of years. In the last 12 months she has become hostile to any inquiries. I came in after a night of no sleep, vomiting and diarrhea for my workplace and she lit me up. She asked me why I think only tradies get this type of illness, and scathingly proclaimed that doctors and lawyers never get this type of sickness. She was clearly insinuating that I was lying about my illness for a certificate. I'm not even a tradie, I'm a warehouse supervisor/operator and I really like my job, I just have a fluro uniform. Her indignation was not only unprofessional and unusual, it was misplaced to even begin with. My wife has numerous other complaints for similar behaviours, but I'll leave it to her if she wants to express them. Avoid this practice if possible. Even the reception treats you like an inconvenience.
Negative experience: I ignored the reviews on this doctor and booked with her anyway. Do yourself a favour, don’t ignore them. the most unprofessional and incredibly rude doctor I have ever have experienced!
Negative experience: Seriously don't even waste your time in this medical center. All the doctors are a waste of time.
Negative experience: Disgusting treatment of patients, completely unprofessional. Dr jusvanti hargivan an is an Abusive, rude and judgement excuse for a doctor.
Negative experience: Bloody disgraceful treatment of patients at this centre by Jasvanti Hargovan (Dr. omitted). This person should NOT be practicing medicine. My daughter visited this "doctor" with symptoms and was belittled, acussed of "...just wanting to get antibiotics ". She walked out in tears by the way she was treated. It seems to me by looking at the ratings that place should be shut down and these "doctors" deregistered. It also obvious that the 5 star ratings have put up by the centre. What are joke! Pathetic! Stay away from this place!
Negative experience: Absolutely appalled by the maltreatment and unprofessionalism I received from a certain female doctor at this healthcare centre! Left the doctors in tears after her harassing me for simply wanting a doctors opinion on some symptoms I had. She belittled me and made me feel humiliated and accused me of only wanting a prescription for antibiotics as though I was lying about my symptoms. her aggressive behaviour towards me was absolutely disgraceful. Even after beginning to cry in front of her she did not show any signs of remorse or offer any help.
Negative experience: 1 star thanks to Jusvanti Hargoven. Rude, ableist, judgemental, and outdated knowledge. I was discriminated against. I was nervous when I first came in and said I had a few things to address. She was noticably annoyed, raised her voice and said, "what! what! what is it??" I told her in order to get Disability Employment Services I needed her to to sign a document to say I'm autistic. I brought my diagnosis and report as proof. She scoffed at the report and dismissed it because it was from 2014. Apparently she doesn't know what autism is and that it's not something that goes away. It is for life. Before I could say anything about it, she asked me if I really wanted to be on benefits for the rest of my life, even though I was literally seeking HELP to get a JOB. She asked me what I do with myself all day. She also turned to my partner who came with me because I was anxious, and asked the same questions about being employed, being on benefits, and what we do all day. We asked how this was relevant but she repeated her questions. We told her the form was to get HELP to get a job (NOT to stay on benefits) but she didn't understand and said she could only do a sick certificate?? Being very uncomfortable in this situation I told her not to worry about it. I then told her I was having trouble sleeping and asked for melatonin. She then questioned why I need this and repeatedly asked if I did any drugs in an accusing way. I asked why she kept asking and she told me that she doesn't believe me because I hesitated and because that's often the cause of sleeping issues for young people. I told her I hesitated because I didn't expect this question. Other doctors have NOT had this attitude. I have contacted the medical centre about making a formal complaint but they have NOT responded.
Negative experience: Had the displeasure of waiting an hour and a half today, to then be accused by the Doctor that I only wanted a medical certificate off work because i didn't want to be drug tested. Answered phone calls while 'assessing' me. Disgracefully unprofessional.
Positive experience: Long wait - 48 minutes. Explanation: practice receives both walk- in and booked patients. Receptionist blames Doctor for slotting in walk in many walk -in clients between the booked ones, Doctor blames receptionist for the same♂️. Advice: walk in rather than book appointment, or call before driving there.
Negative experience: I took my very sick two year old son to see Dr Shah over the weekend to confirm a diagnosis of a contagious virus that we were suspicious of. Dr Shah asked the same basic questions repeatedly, did not examine my son properly and disregarded his symptoms, saying he had nothing more than an “allergic reaction” to something when he did not ask if he was allergic to anything. He said my son would be fit to return to daycare this week which was untrue as I ended up taking my son to the hospital for a second opinion that same day, where it was confirmed that he did in fact have a contagious virus and was unfit to attend daycare. If we had listened to his advice, he could have spread this to other children. Dr Shah should not be practicing medicine.
Negative experience: Avoid at all costs
Positive experience: You can always get an appointment and the waiting times aren't too bad compared to other medical centres. Great doctors and the onsite pathology centre and pharmacy is handy.
Thank you for your review!
Negative experience: My daughter has just been to see this horrible condescending doctor (Dr Jusvanti Hargovan). She came home in tears because this doctor told her she was stupid for wanting a certain blood test. In her words she stated ' I can't believe how stupid young people can be'. She continued to laugh whilst constantly repeating 'it just blows my mind, so stupid'. This doctor is extremely rude and arrogant. If you read comments below, this isn't first post regarding Dr Jusvanti Hargovan. Don't waste your time, she isn't having a bad day, it's just clearly how she is.
Hi Sandra. A patient can not choose what blood test they would like. A doctor decides on what tests are necessary(if any) given symptoms, examination and history.
Negative experience: Waiting for 48 minuets there was 3 doctor in medical and no water for drink.
Dear Sir, Water is available at the chemist within our medical centre. We provide a great service to the community by being open on Easter Sunday. Kind Regards. Practice manager
Negative experience: very long wait. Doctor not interested in patient circumstances. waste of time
Fantastic experience: We have been coming here since it opened . The nurses and pathology people are the nicest you will find any where, as are the receptionists and secretaries . As with any Medical Centre there will be Doctors you don't like and those you do. It is a very personal decision and nobody should judge the entire medical Center because they have had a bad experience with one doctor as some reviewers have done. It is worth ringing before you come to your appointment to see how many people there are waiting before you in the queue so you can choose to wait at home or at work before heading down.Sometimes there will be delays. If there is a delay it will only be because someone who needs extra help, is getting it ! (One day that person might be you ! ) Dr Nawali is exceptional for his kind, caring, patient and considerate manner which combined with his dedication to his job and his medical knowledge make him an exceptional doctor.
Thank you for taking the time to post a positive review. It is very much appreciated.
Negative experience: I saw a particular doctor at this clinic who is WELL due to retire - it was very clear that he has never practiced goood bedside manner OR ethics with his patients, though of course it isn't a priority as he is booking everyone in at the same time meaning everyone is waiting well over time. I guess thats how you time manage when all you care about is the $$. Disempowering people from making autonomous decisions about their own health care- completely not ok! Do not entrust this practice with your health care and question EVERYTHING. I will be spreading the word to discourage all people to not waste their time with this clinic. Safe to say I will NEVER be returning.
Positive experience: Reception staff are really nice ladies. Which is important, as they are your first point of contact . Doctors seem good too. I see Dr Innocent Nwali. Cool name , but he has a guilty look about him . Lol . I just hope i dont get pulled up by police carrying my meds, and they think its a made up name :/ . But yeah, Dr Nwali does a good enough job so far . I have only been here a few times. I Swapped medical centres cos staff at Bellambi medical centre up road from me are quite rude. Handy to have big discount pharmacy next door to here also :) I reccoment calling ahead, even though you have an appointment, as they can run behind sometimes. I just called ahead now, and they said only 1 person waiting. If you ca ahead just before appointment, and they say there a few ahead, just hold off on the drive there.
Thank you for your review!
Fantastic experience: Excellent centre, highly recommended. Great Doctors and helpful staff
Thank you for your review!
Negative experience: Dreadful doctors. Will not listen. I have had two terrible experiences with them, so have others i have known to go there. Highly recommend NOT going there even for a broken hand because they will not beleive you and a seperate radiologist will phone you personally to go straight to emergency and ignore the Doctor at the practice. Terrible place.
Negative experience: Made an appointment for 10.15 on a Saturday. Waited 2hrs. Had 3 people come in after us that got seen first. This is a waste of time. If you actually have a life and expect things to be decently well organised. Ie + or - 20 mins. DO NOT COME HERE! its impossible to be 2hrs behind. So close to opening unless the appointment system is a scam.
Negative experience: Extremely long waiting times 3 hours plus only one doctor on need more doctors if they expect to be a good medical centre would not recommend better off going some where else
Negative experience: Long waiting time, rude receptionists and an absolute witch of a doctor (Dr Jusvanti Hargovan) who told me that a long-standing condition I have was "stress" (my only cause for stress right now is her), and I was basically making it up to get time off uni. Didn't know anything about me, and spent the whole appointment convincing me that I should stop complaining and stop seeing my specialist to monitor my condition because it will "do nothing and is a waste of time". Also gave me a med cert in which she wrote "claims to have had ...." Thanks for nothing
Negative experience: Drs dont show up on time, waiting time 40mins plus POOR PERFORMANCE N ATTITUDE! Never going back!
Fantastic experience: Excellent medical care for those in need
