Medical on Burleigh

Fantastic experience: This well equipped, clean and airy practice has very friendly, polite and helpful staff. This review is based on our two most recent consultations, one with Dr Alex Thompson, one with Dr Taz Jacobs. Our doctor was very kind, patient and supportive, and had good knowledge. He was very calm, respectful and thorough throughout mine and my elderly parents consultation with him. Both my parents and I appreciated his sense of humour, which helped us all get through everything that needed to be dealt with. We highly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: My visit to Medical on Burleigh was extraordinarily a breeze. So refreshing after always enduring long wait times, in pokey waiting rooms, staring at walls in other medical practices. I saw Dr. Greig Hampson Tindale for the first time. I waited 2 minutes! I am so impressed, he has a beautiful nature and he was so easy to talk to. He was informative, thorough and had a genuine caring nature with a great sense of humour. A very knowledgeable Doctor without the "hurry up and get out" attitude of many other doctors I have seen. I don't want to highly recommend him though as I would rather keep him as the best kept secret for myself

Negative experience: I recently had a very disappointing experience at this clinic that I feel must be shared. After visiting the doctor for treatment, I was prescribed the wrong medication, which was not only ineffective but also potentially harmful. When I returned to the clinic to address the issue and seek a resolution, I was confronted by an incredibly rude staff member named Kelsey. She was unhelpful and dismissive, refusing to offer any assistance or solutions. Instead of taking responsibility for the mistake, she insisted that there was no option but to wait for the next available appointment, despite the fact that the issue was caused by the doctor's error. To make matters worse, I was still asked to pay for the appointment, even though it was the clinic's and doctor's fault. This experience was unprofessional and frustrating, and I would not recommend this clinic based on the poor customer service and lack of accountability.

Positive experience: Reception guy is extremely good. Center is large but I still feel that I am treated as a person.

Fantastic experience: Doctor Spanner provides accurate diagnosis and is on time and thorough.

Negative experience: Had to wait over 45 minutes for my appointment, to then be seen for a total of 3 minutes by the GP and then to wait another 40 minutes to collect some tests…. The practice was not relatively busy… far too long to be waiting as a sick person and no apologies whatsoever. Very disappointing.

Fantastic experience: Dr Kabat is a wonderful caring Dr... Very thorough

Positive experience: I had a problem. Phoned, got booked in promptly. Welcomed next day. Seen by Dr Sax on time. Problem sorted. No fuss. Very business focused. Feels a little sterile. But that is better than chaotic ineptitude.

Fantastic experience: Dr Chiapello is knowledgeable, skilled, and compassionate. She has a strong understanding of her field and is able to provide accurate diagnoses and effective treatments. She also communicates effectively with her patients and provides compassionate care. Thank you for being such a great doctor. I couldn't have asked for better care for my entire family.

Negative experience: To be kept waiting 1 hour without being seen by our GP (had seen the nurse initially in a timely manner for a routine check prior to GP), with 2 young children who start climbing the walls, need naps etc is unacceptable. We walked out on today’s appointment without seeing our GP. We are kept waiting 9 times out of 10 here unfortunately.

Fantastic experience: Going to see Dr Stephanie Smith at medical on Burleigh is so easy with lots of parking and friendly staff to greet you at door the convenience of a pharmacy next door and pathology in house is great to . Dr Stephanie Smith has always had such a lovey “bed side manner “ never rushes and listens , she explains everything and is very Thorough , with working out different medical puzzles at times having a long medical history myself and a complex one makes me feel at ease when I go to my appts with Dr Stephanie Smith . Fantastic experience: I needed to see a Doctor urgently and my usual Doctor was busy so the lovely staff made me an appointment within 2 hours with Steph Smith. Steph was prompt, efficient, knowledgeable and sympathetic. She discussed my illness and together we made a plan to address it. Would highly recommend both the practice and the staff working hard to keep it running smoothly.

Fantastic experience: My GP, Dr Amy Thornley is very caring of all my needs and leaves no stone unturned to make sure that nothing is left to chance. The entire practice is managed very well with all staff well trained, everything clean and in its place with a nice ambience. Always greeted warmly. Medical on Burleigh is a very good practice all round. I am now in my early seventies so I have been to quite a few in my years. It would be difficult to find a better one.

We moved here years ago as our previous doctor just couldn’t cater for last minute appointments when the kids had woken up unwell, and Medical on Burleigh always have doctors available for these situations. Dr Amy especially is an absolute Gem, the care she provides and has for my family and I seems so rare to come by these days and I feel so lucky to have her in our corner!

Negative experience: You have changed your app for appointments. I called twice and visited the reception once to advise the new app does not work. I even went through the booking at reception and showed them there was no appointments on any day for 3 mths 9n 3 different Drs. The reply was ok. The app is not set up correctly and reception appears to have no interest in listening or getting it rectified. The old app was always working and very convenient. This new app does not offer convenient or ease. So frustrating and disappointing.

Positive experience: Despite checking in at reception on arrival, the receptionist failed to log my arrival with the nurse and I sat waiting long after my appointment until my phone rang with the nurse asking where I was. I was sitting outside her room. This was the first time this has happened

Negative experience: I regret to say that my experience with Medical on Burleigh was disappointing. During my visit, I expressed my medical anxiety, but unfortunately, it was not handled with the level of compassion and understanding I had hoped for, instead the GP laughed in my face. Not to mention I had explained my vast family experience of illness. Additionally, when I received a call regarding my ultrasound results, there was a significant delay in communication, despite my attempts to reach out, I’m still waiting to be contacted back regarding my results after 3 attempts of calling them explaining my medical anxiety and a 10 hour window. And now they’re closed. This lack of responsiveness and empathy left me feeling unheard and frustrated. It is my sincere belief that a medical practice should prioritize patient well-being and provide a supportive environment. Based on my experience, I would not recommend returning to this practice.

Fantastic experience: Very pleasant experience. I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist and then by the Doctor who was thorough and very personable.

Fantastic experience: I could not praise this medical centre enough. I am new to the area & arrived here as a new patient with a small emergency as I cut my head open with a sizable gash that required stitching. It was a couple of hours before they were due to close & I expected to be told that I would need to go to the hospital. The receptionist was very polite, professional & accomodating. She sent me to the nurses station where I was told that they were just trying to juggle doctors around as they were fully booked but they would get someone to see me to save me a trip to the ER. That they did indeed! Dr Sarah squeezed me in between her existing patients & did a wonderful job of stitching my wound whilst one of the other nurses finished the dressing. All of the staff were extremely proffessional & Dr Sarah was very gentle & compassionate. Safe to say we have found our new GP. Thanks to the entire team! I will also mention that the clinic is spotlessly clean, well equipped & very modern.
